Just took the time to look at some of the combine numbers. I think perhaps Grayson Allen and Donte Divincenzo both did a lot to help themselves with their performances. If they both drop out of the first round, it won't be due to concerns about their athleticism.

Re: your mock, @BonesJones--really well done, but I don't like the Blazers pick. Evans just feels "meh" to me. No reason or explanation, just my gut feel.

Not a fan of either as a player.

Agreed. I initially put that in the post but accidentally deleted that upon edit. Don't want either of them, just surprised by their testing figures. I mean, if one doesn't get drafted, I'd be OK with bringing one in as a UDFA, but aside from that...nah.

Most mocks have Evans going in the second round. Seems like a reach at 24.

I just want us to keep our pick. It will make Summer League much more interesting.

Man, Kevin Hervey from Arlington is really shooting up draft boards after an excellent combine. He could be in play at 24 for the Blazers. 6'8" SF with over 7'3" wingspan.

Injury prone.

Is it just me or is this class absolutely packed with player who can shoot? I swear every time I try to check how someone has been shooting they were at least 37-38% from the three last year and a lot of them were over 40%.

Bruce Brown is just about the only guard/wing I found who was a bad shooter in college (26.7% in his second year, a decent 35% in first so he can probably get better). Even the bigs seem decent shooters - Carter (41% albeit in just 1.2 attempts a game), Jackson Jr and Jontay Porter all shot well in college too.

Kind of aligns with the direction the league is going in. You got players like Bridges listed as a a possible stretch four at 6 ft 6 in.

Keep in mid though that shooting in the high 30's in college isn't the same as that in the pros as the line is significantly different and much tougher. Some make the adjustment but some also can't.

I think he's underrat3d. Seen a few with him I the top 24. He's an incredibly smart player, a good defender, and solid guard skills at 6'6.. Should be rated higher IMO.

I dont really go off of other mock drafts. I go off legit runors as well as what i perceive each players value to be, and what I think GMs could value that mock drafts don't.

I feel the same way. I also feel like this class is extremely athletic.

Anton, Jackson, Bagley, Bamba, and Michael Porter Jr. are freak athletes for their size. Sexting is as fast as lightning. Mikal Bridges, Kevin Knox, Lonnie Walker, and Miles Bridges are all high flyers. Even the lower 1st round guys are good athletically. Anfernee Simons, Chandler Hutchison, Mitchell Robinson, Zhaire Smith, Trevon Duval, Moritz Wagner, Robert Williams.

The closer we get to draft day the more I think there's years class could rival last years.

Yeah that's also a good point. When I was first downloading all those mock draft classes in 2K I thought whoever made them went absolutely crazy with vertical and speed stats for most of these players and then I realized they are actually spot on. Everybody is fast and can jump.

I would put McDaniels & Melton on that list.
I'm not a fan of Wagner

Luka Doncic down to 5th on lastast mock at nbadraft.net... the top 6-7 pick has some true superstar potential this year... hope Neil is shopping CJ hard to Memphis and Orlando for one of those picks

If Conley is ever healthy, him CJ and Gasol would actually be a pretty good core imo.

And if we trade for #4 and he's gone?

The problem I ultimately have with trading CJ for a draft pick is your trading a known commodity for an unknown one (and I don’t mean that to sound like CJ is an object). I just mean CJ has proven he can play in the NBA all the draftees haven’t yet. You really never know which one of those guys will be a bust or if they all will. Of course they could end up to be better than CJ, but if you don’t hit on the draft pick you end hurting yourself in the short term and the long term.

That just goes back to having known mediocre product vs unknown potential greatness... you have to take a gamble to be great... or maybe you like 1st rd exits in playoffs... not to mention CJ is making 25 mil per next season and up to 30 mil his last... that’s way too much money to give a non all star, hand have half the team salary cap committed to a starting backcourt of undersized ISO ball players that don’t play defense

I get it and I’m not opposed to trading CJ for the right deal, If NO trades CJ and drafted one of the guys who turned into a bust we’d all be calling for his job even more than we do now.

Yes , true... but that is only way for chance at greatness... trading for another proven player won’t get you another all star
