Of course they came back then choked. SMH. Probably lost my bracket pool with that game. Ugh.

I don't really like the Ducks showing off and rubbing it in the last minute or so they should be spending clock. Great way to step up after UCI went on that run to start the half though.

Ducks playing decent ball and like their energy.
All freshman and Sophmires except 1 junior and senior.
I’d like to see them at least give UV a tough time.

Wow I really didn't see it that way. Yes Wooten continued to block their shots, and King hit a 3 with 1:30 left, but Dana had the scrubs in after that and they did work the clock. They dribbled out the clock.

I can appreciate that just not really how it came off to me. At least for a short part of it.
I love how hard they were playing though.

If they had been runnin' and gunnin', I'd agree. But they ran the clock down on almost every possession once they got a large lead. They were just finishing with high efficiency at the end of the clock with dunks or '3's.

remember now:

* Oregon, at home against UCLA, had a 19 point 2nd half lead; they led by 13 with 3:40 left; they lead by 9 with 1 minute left...and lost the game by three

* at ASU, the Ducks had a 4 point lead with 8:37 left, but got outscored 28-10 the rest of the way and lost by 14

* Oregon led Washington, at home, by 5 points with 2 minutes left, and lost the game by 5 points

* at UCLA, they had an 18 point lead in the 1st half and a 16 point lead at halftime, then got outscored 62-39 in the 2nd half

Altman said he needed to teach the Ducks to continue to play hard on both ends of the floor no matter the time, no matter the score. Mission accomplished

I have 13 of the Sweet 16 correct. The Mrs. TPFKATHCP got 14 of 16. Not bad.

They certainly didnt get the message the first 8 minutes or so of the 2nd half.

Not in any pool. My bracket will probably take a hit tonight, could not for the life of me say loathsome Baylor will beat my Cal Bears but they probably will. Sigh.

UConn in 26th consecutive Sweet Sixteen. Would Geno Auriemma like Blazers job?

Cal at 6, Blazers at 7, Stanford at 8 makes for some serious channel flipping tonight. Hopefully Blazers blow out by 50.

If you had to choose between working with the top-tier of female student-athletes, or a mismatched hodgepodge of male multi-millionaires (Dame notwithstanding), would it be a tough choice?

let's see now....drowning in a sea of estrogen or blinded by a wall of bling? I've drowned in that sea before and it's damned unpleasant; and my eyesight is already failing...

No, Platypus, I am quite sure Auriemma could pick any coaching job he wants. He has fame, well paid, gets the pick of the best athletes, and they stay four years so he has stability. He'll stay until he decides it's time to retire and prepare his HOF speech.

Do Ducks have a shot at the title??? I'm enjoying their run here. 10 straight wins! Only have to win two more to reach Final Four!

One game at a time young man, but I did hear Kenny Wooten found a can of whoop ass in his gym bag with Virginia’s name on it after the game last night.

Go Ducks!

Precisely. I've no doubt he'd be an upgrade over Stotts if we were somehow able to convince him to leave Storrs, but I don't think the Allen foundation could pay him enough to take that gamble.

As a Duck die hard I would say........ No.
They are playing way over their heads right now. It is fun as hell to watch, but in the end they do not have a go to scorer. Eventually that will catch up with them. But I love how hard they playing on defense diving for loose balls, forcing turnovers, blocking shots....

From watching the first weekend I would have to say Gonzaga is by far the best team. Duke's lack of 3 pt shooting will eventually catch up with them.

14/16 (missed on Purdue and Houston) and my Elite 8 are all still alive.

Kentucky is my champ though and I've got FSU beating the Zags...so my bracket could be bust pretty quickly.

agreed

further, over the 10 game win streak, they've been punching within their weight class. Pac-12 teams, Wisconsin, UCI...all those teams weren't more athletic or longer; about the same level. Virginia is a big step up in weight. Worse is that the Duck kryptonite in NCAA tournaments under Altman have been teams that shoot the three well; Virginia is 4th in the NCAA in three-point % and they launch 21 a game

just about everything will have to go right for the Ducks to beat Virginia

Considering 14/16 left are chalk (Oregon and Auburn are the only two that weren't) and all 12 of the 1, 2, and 3 seeds are still alive I don't really think it's that impressive if your bracket is still in good shape.

Anybody who simply picked the higher seed would have all of their elite 8 left. The next round is where some separation could happen.

UCF and Wofford could've destroyed like 80% of the brackets over the weekend. I still don't know how those two shots both rimmed out against Duke.
