Game Thread 2019 March Madness Thread

Baylor as #1 overall seed got weakest Elite Eight opponent; in fact, several #3 seeds had better records than Iowa State. Game essentially over mid first quarter. Can the Ducks stop the march? They will be very heavy underdogs, or underducks, or whatever.

Stanford did everything right first half and everything wrong second. Give credit to Notre Dame for making adjustments.

Defending champion Notre Dame wants a repeat. UConn seniors have not won a championship since their first year - in Connecticut, that's a drought. (Wouldn't it be great if three years between titles was a drought for the Blazers?)

Stay tuned....
It was Iowa, not Iowa State (I'm a Cyclone and shiver being mixed up with the Hawkeyes..haha). To be fair though, Iowa had Megan Gustafson, AP player of the year.

Go Ducks!!!
This is my first time watching Baylor. It's not an exaggeration to say that Kalani Brown is built like an NBA forward. USA basketball has her listed at 6'7" 245. No surprise that Sabally got 2 fouls early, and Giomi got one shortly after coming in. I won't be surprised if a couple Oregon bigs foul out tonight.

That is absolutely a foul on Auburn, what an idiot.

omg they missed the double dribble... another great game ruined by the refs

I feel like a fool, as I did not win the sports two bracket!
I apologize for jumping the gun on a victory that dint happen. Ouch!
Congrats to the genuine winner!

Women usually stay four years, they don't make the kind of money in the pros men do so having that degree is important.
I feel bad for liking the post without an explanation. I agree that its important for getting the degree. Im not super happy with how much WNBA players get paid, while I dont think they bring in enough money to warrant NBA contracts it would be nice if the percentage the players got was much closer to what the men get. Someday it would be great if women's ball got popular enough to make similar money overall as the men.

WNBA players should be making 50% of their leagues profit imo.
But the WNBA and the players need to make their game interesting.

Right now, it's not interesting to me therefore I haven't spent a dime on their product.

In the NBA I believe the players get 50% of the revenue. In the WNBA I believe its currently like 22%, the need to bring that up to where the NBA players are.

yes it does, the WNBA also needs to negotiate better media deals.
They need to be able to broadcast their games over-seas where the players make more money.
That's an additional fanbase which needs to be tapped into because the WNBA has shown a lack of ability to draw the interest of the NBA fan.
The players also need to make the game interesting to me.

Even though I find the WNBA players more fundamentally sound. I don't think I'd be in the minority to find the game is boring.
My only concern is with as little revenue as the WNBA generates. How many of the 12 teams would fold if it was a 50/50 split?

Also to add on to it, I think its kind of terrible that the average WNBA player makes quite a bit less than I do. I realize the revenue of the WNBA isnt even close to the NBA but they need to fix this stuff.
