On his way to Bear Island.

Lakers now have another asset to package for Davis.
Send 4 and players.

Breaking News: Zion decided to go back to Duke after learning that he will be a Pelicans.

Probably not possible, they dont have his bird rights.
I guess its actually possible if they sign him with cap space. Would probably take two 1sts though. Not sure if he's worth it.

Two late 1s? Why not? I’d love to have Randle, imagine him and Zach for stretches or him and Nurk, straight up bully ball. We would own the paint.

Him and Zach would fit well together.

Randle is exactly who we need running pick and roll with Dame in playoffs. You give that dude a runway and he makes teams pay. He'd be the perfect outlet put of the trap. I also still have some hope he can be solid defensively.

Something like this?
NOP Gets: Evan Turner, Meyers Leonard, 2020 & 2022 1sts
POR Gets: Julius Randle ($22M a year?), E'Twaun Moore

And then try this?
OKC Gets: E'Twaun Moore
ATL Gets: Patrick Patterson, Hamidou Diallo, Future 2nd Round Picks (2 from POR, 1 from OKC?), and Cash
POR Gets: Taurean Prince

Then you let Layman and Aminu walk.

Try to resign Hood for (non-bird) and Kanter for MLE, or Hood for MLE and Kanter for Minimum (I think this might be possible, even though the majority doesnt).

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (24) / Hood (24)
Prince (30) / Harkless (12) / Hood (6)
Randle (32) / Harkless (10) / Collins (4)
Collins (22) / Kanter (26)

Or we trade Harkless and our 2019 1st for Prince, could keep Moore, resign Hood for MLE, let Kanter and Aminu walk, keep Layman, and do this:

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (24) / Moore (21) / Hood (7)
Prince (25) / Hood (23)
Randle (27) / Layman (15) / Prince (6)
Collins (27) / Labissiere (15) / Randle (6)

Olshey just needs to be creative. Every creative plan is a shot in the dark but if theres enough of them, one should work.

What a night for Pelicans. They get no. 1 and no. 4 picks.

What I think they could realistically do is to take an offer of Ball, Ingram and 4th for AD (maybe add Kuzma if Lakers are willing to put him on the table), send Ball to Chicago for no. 7 or Suns for no. 6 (both are supposed to be interested) and additional assets, and then package either no. 4 and no. 6/7 or no. 4 and a future asset to move up to no. 2 if Memphis want to give Conley another year instead of drafting Morant.

Then you have Morant + Zion, or Zion + no. 4 + no. 6 where you can get a wing and a guard of your choice, + Ingram. Speaking of that I'm not sure if I wouldn't prefer Reddish/Hunter/Culver + White/Garland instead of just Ja.

No. 1 and No. 3 picks.

I'd love the results of the lottery if the Lakers hadn't jumped from 11 to 4. That was a huge thing for them. They had no plausible path to getting Davis and now they do.

WE WERE ROBBED!!!!!!! At least we will get AD out of this like we've wanted all along. Feel for Zion though. Was hoping he'd go to NY, that would have been bananas. Playing alongside KD or Kyrie!

This is the type of thing I'd try to do if I was the GM of a team that needs to rebuild.

people keep saying the Pels should trade for Ingram. But Ingram was recently diagnosed with blood clot(s). That's what ended Chris Bosh's career

If you are Memphis, would you even consider anyone other than Morant? (Or Zion) I cannot see him sliding to 3.
I understand how good RJ Barrett is, but I don't really see New Orleans getting Zion and Ja.
Ja or Zion would fill the seats, RJ Barrett....not as much.

If I'm David Griffin, I'm already talking to the Grizz about dealing for the #2. Basically tell 'em straight up, "We're going to deal AD either to NY or LA for their pick and other assets; which team's assets would be more attractive to you as part of a trade up to #2"?

Buncha damn whiners in here I swear...

When the Blazers moved up from the 6th to the 1st pick with only 5.3 chance of winning the top pick.

We were ecstatic.

Lakers get top 4 now the NBA is rigged.

Jesus... Listen to how y'all sound...

To follow up on this--if you're Memphis, would you trade down from 2 to 3 (or 4) for the privilege of offloading Chandler Parsons' contract?
NOP-->NYK: Anthony Davis
NYK-->MEM: #3 pick
MEM-->NOP: #2 pick, Chandler Parsons

Understand, I realize that NO can get more than just the pick for AD, I'm just listing that as a base for a deal.

As long as Jeanie is in charge, they will find a way to screw it up.

I think something like that works out pretty well for all involved. The Pelicans were scouting Kevin Knox at the end of the season so he'd probably be added to what NO would be getting. I think Memphis is a good fit for Barrett (not that Ja isn't) so they'd probably be okay moving down a spot for the savings but maybe the Knicks would have to throw them a future pick too.

I like this for the Pelicans more than the Lakers crap platter. I'd also look into dealing Jrue somewhere like Boston who has 3 1st rounders or some future ones like the Memphis pick that didn't convey this year.

It's like an NBA2K dream scenario.

That of course depends on who you want and how you value them. It could be a great deal, but then again why would Knicks take on Parsons if they know you want one Morant or Barrett. Seems like they would just call your bluff unless you made the deal more reasonable. I think also Memphis would have to value those two equally or value differently than the rest of the league.

I wouldn't. I'd keep Jrue around. Getting Knox along with the pick for Morant would be outstanding. Ja/Jrue/Knox/Zion seems like an outstanding core.

Knicks wouldn't be taking Parsons, Pels would. Knicks would simply give the #3 (and Knox, as hj suggested) for AD. Pels would take Parsons' contract off Memphis' hands for the privilege of moving up from 3 to 2.

Maybe this was already asked, but is anyone excited about our pick in this draft? I had to move up to single digits before I found anyone I was half interested in. Seems like a great year to trade out and clear some salary or upgrade. The problem is that all those salaries we have been whining about expire at the end of next season. Wish we could make some kind of bench consolidation trade of Leonard + Pick (Olynyk, Covington, etc.).
