Whiteside is the better player but Lopez has a better attitude.

Whiteside is either lazy or hungover every other game. Zero consistency with him, in crucial moments of a game I always cringed with him on the floor. That said he’s better than Lopez

Wizards could have easily had Hassan, but they prefered RoLo. Probably Hassan thinks he should still be a starter and playing big minutes so that was the deal breaker.
