His answer about healthcare (current system is hard on employers and employees) was outstanding.

His answer about Detroit was a bit illogical - he bragged about his immigrant dad earning 65 patents with IBM and GE, and then said that auto factory floors are run by robots, and that's not the fault of immigrants. Of course he meant that Guatemalan refugees aren't taking auto jobs, but it sounds like the robots might be the fault of his dad.

It's not about fault though, he's not saying to blame robots, or people who made the robots, instead of immigrants. He's saying we need to look for solutions to automation, not stop it.

No. I’m not going to go rewatch it. I watched it once. The questions were legitimate. They were questions voters have. A small % of people watched that last night and thought “wow that was great”. It wasn’t.

It costs $3T a year. I’ve read and heard varying way he plans to pay for this and each time it seems iffy at best that the math works. And isn’t it true that if someone already receives govt assistance that will either reduce or eliminate their payment? So this doesn’t help them?

Who cares what it costs? The money goes right back into the economy. There's lots of low banking fruit to cut. Bring our soldiers home from Afghanistan and we save over 5 billion a month.

Value added tax pays for a lot of it bruh. Yang has been going around to big corporations for years talking to them about UBI.

It will not be reduced. But it will have to be offset against whatever they currently get. At least that’s what i read. If you get $300 in assistance, you get $700. And so on. I don’t know what people get from welfare etc. I hope it works.

Canada's Government a number of years back implemented a National GST (goods & services tax) which really burnt Canadian Citizens as it was a Fed tax upon Fed Tax on top of provincial and city taxes. I believe it was 7% when implemented. I was able to send in Canadian expenditures where I was charged the GST, and after a number of months receive a check.

Canada's Government a number of years back implemented a National GST (goods & services tax) which really burnt Canadian Citizens as it was a Fed tax upon Fed Tax on top of provincial and city taxes. I believe it was 7% when implemented. I was able to send in Canadian expounders where I was charge the GST and after a number of months receive a check.

Maybe that is what he used it for. I dated a girl from Alaska in College who got it while she attended OSU because she was still an Alaskan resident.

Her family did not use it for that.

That is the beauty of it. You can use it however you please.

What about felons who can't find work when they get out of prison? You don't think $1,000 month would help them?

My first house was right next to section 8 housing units. I used to hear people living in those homes talking about how they were just going to rob someone because nobody would hire them and they had no other choice.
