Are they at 8 in space after melo?I thought the Blazers were at 12 players and the minimum is 14?
and they couldn't re-sign Melo if they did what you say

If portland has 8 million in room, they can S&T Whiteside for 8, not 5-6. They couldn't use the BAE, but they can trade him for up to the apron.

I'd do Whiteside for Barnes. If that is the case, SAC is supposedly interested in HW. I would love Richaun Holmes here.
It wouldn't matter, we'd still need to stay under the 138 apronIf they arranged a Whiteside S/T, they'd just execute it first before completing any signings

if we do a Whiteside sign and trade with Sac THE target should be Bjelica IMO, his 7 mil would put us right at the edge or perhaps a bit over into the tax if even doableIf they arranged a Whiteside S/T, they'd just execute it first before completing any signings
<groan> If we were going to sign a defensive specialist Noel was a superior choice to Jones at half the money.
There really isn’t anyone left worth the BAE. Everyone is either a minimum guy or just too expensive.
Imma just hold out hope for Batum.
How about Reggie Jackson
Actually, i'm doubting this now. There is still a moratorium going on, but teams are allowed to announce minimum contract deals. Philly announced their signing of Dwight, etc.,Wait Melo signed for the minimum??? That’s big time. Means we still have the BAE to throw at a ball handler.

Only thing on Blazers twitter is about Enes.
Wonder if Woj jumped the gun and Melo's deal was the BAE? For Melo, it's hardly a difference between the two, but I wonder if Neil gave him more $.

Or they are still scouring the market for a possible BAE target, and if they don’t find one, they’ll just give that to Melo.

I believe so with the amount of years he’s been in the leagueSpotrac has Carmelo signing for $2.564 million. That is not the BAE. Is that the Vet Minimum?
