This offseason was a ball handler away from being a ten..for me
Quick said Neil is content with CJ/Ant handling backup PG duties.
My choice for the last spot would be Svi Mykhailiuk — high IQ player who has shown flashes of playmaking and playing defense.
Another low risk/high reward player.
There's no shame in being the best player in Russia...Running out of options for Hassan...
Whiteside for Aldridge?
But there's going to be a lot more FA. I think many will be disappointed in the offers availableBecause of limited Cap Space, a lot of players signe 1-year deals or 2-year deals where the 2nd is a player option. Next year, more teams are expected to have cap space so more money to be spent on players.
surprising. We usually give 3 year deals.....
they'd have to use cap-space or an exception to sign him for a 3 years deal. BAE is all they have and they want to conserve it
Did we use the BAE on Crabbe/GTJ/Layman? Genuinely curious.
I read somewhere on a twitter feed that the Blazers have had Ant working on handles and passing since the bubble...he's going to be the backup guard...hopefully he's a quick study
Realistically there’s no minutes for him unless we cut into other people that probably deserve the minutes more.

CJ should be playing less.
He's real young man...people forgot how young...like, still growing young. Young players do learn to play new positions....he's quick enough to learn to be a pt guard if he gets the handles....what he's not is a consistent lights out shooting guard yet or big enough to guard 2 guards...lol...he was a backup PG last season...you'd think they'd have him working on his handles before last season instead of waiting till 2 months ago
is there any more futile endeavor in the NBA than trying to make a SG into a PG?

he's only 5 months younger than Gary Trent, Collin Sexton, and Tyler Herro
he's 2 months older than Ja Morant, a month older than Zion Williamson, 3 months older than Cam Reddish, & Jaren Jackson
those guys are producing, many as starters. What's limiting Simons might not be youth, but ability
imagine Westbrook with Whiteside
yeah...he's not those guys ...people develop at different rates....he didn't play college ball like anybody you mentioned....had nothing to do with my point that he can learn to play pt guard at his age...I'm sensing he's going to be a focus of disdain on the roster though...I think he can make the leap before his rookie deal is up but would be better suited to try playing the 1.....Gary Trent has been coached since he could walk by an NBA dad....grew up in the nba surrounded by NBA superstars.....everybody has a different path to success and timelinehe's only 5 months younger than Gary Trent, Collin Sexton, and Tyler Herro

I read today he'll probably be a Laker at the end of this allWhat about Cousins? I dont remember him agreeing to a team
man, give the kid a break. If it wasn't for Neil hyping him up mad crazy and thinking he'd be a definitive Seth replacement before the season last yr, we'd have all been fine with his development. I'm expecting better things this season. plus he got a girl.My opinion is that he’s too quiet. I don’t see the swagger. He isn’t like Dame or CJ or Trent.
again...Portland is hard-capped and are maybe 8M, probably less, under the apron. Portland can not exceed the apron in any circumstance till next season. Aldridge make 24M. People need to let the Aldridge dream go
We also usually trade up and get someone we are targeting at the beginning of the second round. I really think Olshey didn't have anyone he was extremely excited about that was available so he just took the highest guy left on his draft board and that would explain the two year deal as opposed to the three year deal where we could have bird rights and restrict his free agency.surprising. We usually give 3 year deals.....
