His first year in Detroit, Grant's usage went from 18% to 28.5% and his PER was about the same and nearly every other efficiency stat went down. His offensive win shares nearly went down by a half.

This is not an impact player who you bill as a second star.

He's a really good role player who I think we can get without giving up our only tradeable asset. I'm finding it hard to believe that people disagree with this assessment.
Or not get, and be just fine.

All these stats will overrate bad players on good teams and devalue good players on bad teams. And then people will say "Oh, he didn't contribute to winning, it's no wonder those stats are so bad."

Until they actually go to a good team or a good team is built around them. Go look at Devin Booker's advanced stats for his career. Actually, Grant is a good case where WE KNOW how good he looks when he's on a good team (go look at those stats you cited when he was on those teams), because he's been on them before. And he was actually good enough to warrant more usage on those teams and just didn't have the right situation where he could prove now. He's now proven it.

Now he probably shouldn't have a 28% usg rate on a championship contender, but certainly he can be a very good starter on a very good team, with more offensive responsibilities than he was given before.

And the flip side is we are comparing his impact to CJ. We know what CJ looks like on a good team, and even then it's not good. Yeah, I'll take Grant.

Anyone uh...have a special stream one can watch? Not sure if that's on the level to ask.

I'm really cool with the fact that the Russ trade is taking Beal out of the trade equation according to Shams. Beal is the only player that I thought was a better fit for the Sixers. I still thought that we might be the right team because I think Beal would have required the Sixers sending assets out with Simmons to get him, while we'll have to send assets with CJ to get Simmons.

I will say this much for Jerami Grant: he's better than Andrew fucking Wiggins.

All this talk about Grant, we are comparing him in the context of CJ right?

What do you think about CJ?

I still think Toronto could be a suitor with Siakam

I was gone for a bit so Westbrook to Lakers happened?

id say the raps are the likely landing spot for simmons

they have the assets to pull that trade

I guess but forward help isn't their most pressing need. They need a dynamic perimeter scorer. Also I think Siakam's value is higher than Simmons's right now, so that would mean assets going out. Fred VanVleet plus assets actually makes more sense than Siakam but FVV isn't as good of a fit as CJ.

I still don't think anyone said it's official, the last word was it's close but they were negotiating draft assets coming from the Lakers.

that explains CJ stepping on the sideline in Game 5

How the hell did Malika Andrews' hair change this much in just 9 days

Olshey doesn’t have the balls to pull off a big trade. He’s too chicken shit to ever part with CJ. When most GM’s would’ve done it 2 years ago.
He might not but if he doesn't he better pack up his office because he either makes a big deal involving CJ soon or makes a much bigger deal with Dame going out, if he's employed to do so.

Oh if Dame wants out, Olshey must go first. He will trade CJ, the only question is for who?

Makes it less likely Dame goes to LA now. Phew.

That was never going to happen, so it makes it equally unlikely. I'd pull and end of Mice and Men with Dame before sending him to the lakers, then during a Seance later, Dame would thank me for that mercy.
