I’m not trading little for anything less than a star, none of this Ariza caliber crap. Simons is the guy we should be looking to move. He doesn’t fit here no matter how much Olshey or anyone else likes him. We have enough shooting guards.

Considering how much athleticism Simons has, the dude is extremely one dimensional. He can only shoot and that's it. Not a good defender. Not a good passer. Not a good slasher. Just a shooter and that's it. He'll have a niche in the league but he's certainly not a budding star.

I'm not against trading any Blazer (not named Lillard), but we need to be smart here.

Little is showing promise but his value isn't what it could be. If he cold return an All-Star caliber forward, sure sign me up. However, that's not going to happen and, in the case of Nas, it might be best to let him progress. Two-way wings are so difficult to find and I think he'll continue to improve.

GT is our best, most realistic trade chip we have to offer. He tries on defense and is already one of the best 3-point shooters in the game. It's beautiful thinking of him in a finishing five lineup with Dame and CJ on the offensive end. The more space we can open up for those two guards, the better. Although, Portland really isn't hurting too bad on that end of the floor. The big question is, can Trent defend NBA SF's? We're historically bad on defense and playing Dame, CJ, and Trent together doesn't remedy that at all. There's also the upcoming contract Trent will surely receive in the summer. Is Portland willing to commit 100M to Dame, CJ, and Trent? If that answer is no, then move him at the deadline. The last thing we can afford is to let GT walk while receiving nothing in return. I will say I wouldn't just move him for anything. If nothing materializes by the 25th, keep him, sign him, and see how everything comes together.

Yup. Trent and Collins is who I would be looking to move.

Meyers Leonard and a 2nd to the Thunder for Ariza

DDolla beat me to it

from Miami to OKC, tough lol

What do people think of Mason Plumlee? Detroit is allegedly shopping him.

Plumlee at 4-5M/year might be a better option than Kanter at the same price, His defense is certainly better

but he makes 8.3M/year and has 2 more years on his deal. Can't see the Blazers taking that on without some pain

So this one year bird exception thing. Is that not applicable to Hood as well?

LOL at Meyers.... supposedly he just bought a really expensive house in Miami.

Who knows, maybe OKC will waive him

maybe they got a 2nd round pick out of the deal (to add to their massive collection) as well as some financial savings. And they aren't too worried about making the playoffs

I always liked him..... for our bench. I think we could use him against someone like AD. But I would not want to give up too much.
I would send Hood's ending contract for him as we could use his size.

I hope that Neil does something. Hood and a 2nd for Ariza would've been helpful for us. I think our defense would be competent with Nurk back and being able to help Enes or Carmelo (hopefully only one at a time) by playing them with Ariza and Covington.

That deal wouldn’t have worked financially. We also have to think about not dipping into the tax. It’s clear they won’t be in there this season. So the money has to almost be equal, or more going out than coming in.

Meyers is done... How can you screw things up, staying at home and doing nothing collecting 10M a year? Maybe now he can be a professional video game player.

Can someone clear this one up; could Portland theoretically/realistically afford to give John Collins the max in the summer if they were to acquire him at the deadline?

im asking because a rondo/Collins for hood/Trent/pick trade looks pretty enticing, and I don’t even wanna trade Trent!

We'd have his bird rights but I think it would put us above the cap :dunno:

im not worried about being over the cap, pretty sure we will be in the tax again next season either way. I’m more thinking about the hard cap or whatever.

Pretty sure you can go over the hard cap to sign a RFA.

...he's not staying! They are either going to cut or repackage him in another trade. He going going gone!

He can still be happy there even if he isn't playing basketball.

"Once the trade is completed, there’s no expectation that Leonard would be a part of the Thunder moving forward."

We should take him back here and use his size. I loved this guy and he was good with Dame.
Plumlee, I mean.

Hard caps exist in-season when you acquired a player through a sign-and-trade the previous off-season. The hard cap expires the following off-season, so it shouldn't impact RFAs, so far as I'm aware.
