oh it would have to be a buyout target. he has two more years after this one at 27 mil. We'd have to get significant assets back to take that on. I'd do this, and ask for a pick back.

I love Dort. But it doesn't make much sense for OKC. They have no pressing need to get rid of the Horford contract.

That doesn't work. We would be several million into the luxury tax

Neil never should have given CJ the max. He's not a max player.
Fireable offense. Not just the contract but the fact that it wasn't market value and therefore Neil was bidding against himself again.

Trent’s on my shit list. At this point I hope he gets traded.
Trent is a young player with his name in trade rumors, this is normal. If he doesn't get traded (which would be a colossal mistake if Olshey intends to keep CJ) then he'll be back to shooting lights out when the deadline passes in two games.

Technically, CJ does not have a max contract.

However, its close enough that it doesn't make a material difference

a bigger problem is it's combined with Dame's supermax

CJ is 'eligible' for the 7 year veteran scale which is 30% of the cap. If Portland had two players like that, and the cap went up to 110M, the two would combine for 66M in salary next year and 71M the year after. Dame and CJ will combine for 75M next year and 81M the year after that. That extra 9-10M a year, puts Portland against the tax line and throttles a lot of flexibility. We're seeing some of the issues with that this deadline

Keep Trent for this year’s run. Replace him with Elleby in next year’s campaign.

And a future first from POR to ORL.

I'd rather do this trade stay under the tax, have some size to go with Dame and CJ in the backcourt and not give up a first rounder.

On ESPN trade machine they have us losing 3 wins and Orlando losing 1 win. I would have posted it from that sight but I don't know how. (if someone wants to tell me how I'd appreciate it)

Actually, those are called facts. You dispute CJ’s PER?
CJs PER is the SAME as Curry's. Your 'fact' is incorrect.

Also, CJs PER for this season is an anomoly compared to his career.

All the other assertions are pure delusion...

Holy shit I would be all over that.

Gordon and RoCo are both up after next year and RoCo and is making much less than Gordon now. Id rather go after Collins than Gordon.

yeah I know, I meant he would replace Hood in rotation, not necessarily position.

We all know Stotts won’t play Little when it matters, so may as well find a vet better than Hood.
But Hood plays the 2, with a ball handling role. I don't see how Gay as a PF takes a spot in the rotation.

lol @ “ball handling role” you mean dribbling the ball past half court and handing it to dame, CJ, and Melo? Gay can do that. His career assist % is higher than Hoods.

I don't see nothing real big by us in a trade situation. But the players I see in play would be Hood and Trent. I don't see them putting Zach or Simons being in any trade due to Olshey probably want see Zach for a full season plus he can play both the 4 and the 5. He talked Simons up to much to trade Simons and Olshey don't like to admit to be wrong.

We will get Zach on the cheap Im sure.

He also says Dieng could get bought out if Memphis is unable to trade him. That would be a big I’d be all over. Defends AND spaces the floor.

Gordon has now formally asked for a trade. Wonder which team that isn’t Portland is gonna get him.
