Is the question, should Winslow be the back up center?

Nothing against Eubanks, but he is a matchups player. Not someone that needs to play every night. Going small should be an option we go to more with our personnel.

Last year, Portland didn't get their 4th road win until Jan 17th.

Their 18th road game.

And their 43rd overall game.

They didn't get their 7th overall win until Nov 15th and their 15th game.

This has to be one of our deepest teams. So many guys deserve more playing time, Little, Sharpe, soon GP. Guys are going to have to accept some nights it isn’t going to be your night.

body language of Nurk concerns me (arms crossed almost entire 4th quarter). Sorry not trying to read to much into it and hope things stay good this teams chemistry is amazing

Yeah I would think there has to be a consolidation at some point. Sharpe, GP, Watford, Winslow, Nas, Jabari, and Keon can all contribute and deserve some sort of roll imo. Maybe that OG stuff will finally come to fruition. I’m trying to think of who and what we actually need. I’d love another Big with range and consistency. I guess we will see in a few momths.

I would like to see Billups try replacing Eubanks with someone else. Whether it's Winslow or Jabari Walker. Replacing Eubanks means someone like Little or Walker getting more playing time at the other positions.

We can’t actually consolidate. We have to have 14 players. There will always be good players who don’t play. But there are injuries and it’s great to have good backups.

We can trade 3 average players for 1 really good one and 2 bench warmers.

injuries will happen. don't give up depth yet.

I'd rather they cut down on Dame, Simons and Grants minutes. Thats where they will find time for Sharpe, Payton and Winslow.

Right now, part of the reason why Dame, Ant, Grant and Hart are playing so much is BECAUSE they don't have a decent backup PG or player who they can use to mask Dame's defense if Hart or Grant goes out.

I’d just rather not trade for OG at this point. Sharpe and Nas are both guys that need more minutes. A big man though—definitely. Big with range would be even better, but a more athletic/mobile big would be nice.

Nas isn't playing because he's just been absolutely lost defensively so far this season. The other rotation guys that are lost the same amount are Ant and Dame, but obviously we need those two for other reasons.

Him becoming a reliable shooter is a pretty significant development though. And with his contract extension we have time to bring him along slowly.

Dallas up 3 on BK.

Fouled. KD got the ball up and is getting 3 FTs, but he missed one

ugh

Honestly, the only reason I'm really interested in watching this team is Sharpe, and if he's getting the Stotts treatment, I'm not sure I care enough to watch.

wow....couldn't disagree more, at least about the team. I'm all for seeing Sharpe play

but this is the most entertaining Blazer team since 2013-14. The 7 years of reboots of Olshey's love affair with CJ started out boring and became more boring each & every year. This team is an incredible change of pace from the Stolshey era

love watching them

I watched the first half and posted in this thread. Couldn't watch the 2nd half live (don't ask), so I had to watch it on DVR. I then came here and read all the meltdowns...that was fun. Some people shouldn't post in game threads I'm thinking

right now, I'd be just fine with Cronin not doing anything at the trade deadline. There's no player on the team I really want traded, especially not before seeing what this team can be

I do not understand this line of thinking.
Eubanks is a solid backup center. He rebounds, clogs the middle, blocks shots, is shooting over 65% from the field...he provides toughness, is a great teammate, and one of the dawgs on this team. I mean, whadda ya want?
I am a huge Justice fan, he and Hart are the key to Chauncey-ball...And, as amazing as it is, Winslow can play center, and there will be times (like tonight) where it works.
I wouldn't want Jabari Walker taking any of Drew's time. I just don't think he's as good as Eubanks. At anything. Yet.
Eubanks has more than earned his time.

Couldn't agree more.

There are so many dumb things that happen in the NBA every night.
Sacramento was only down 1 point with 26 seconds left in the game.
Sacramento had a foul to give and finally fouled with about 10 seconds left in the game.
Then they let the clock run down to 1.3 seconds before fouling again. And sending Steph Curry to the free-throw line.
Why in the hell would you do that?
Sacramento did manage to get a shot off and perhaps Kevin Huerter was fouled but that was not called. Perhaps it will be in the two minute report tomorrow. In any case Sacramento lost.

So we win in Phoenix with Winslow essentially our PG down the stretch, and we win in Miami with Winslow essentially playing center down the stretch. How valuable is he?

Ant is such a clutch shooter. Love seeing him attack the lane and finish in crunch time against a good defensive team.

It is nothing against Eubanks but the trailblazers should put out the best lineup possible. Sometimes that might be without Eubanks. Neither Eubanks nor Nurkic finished the game tonight. Should they have automatically been in at the end?

No. Chauncey had the correct lineup (duh!..lol)
But Jabari Walker was also where he needed to be.

I see Eubanks with 13 minutes, Watford with 13 minutes, Sharpe with 12 minutes and Little only 7 minutes. Wonder where Gary Payton II's minutes will come from. I would think he'd get at least 20 minutes a night.
