If I just heard your right, you said losing to both the Pels & Mavs is ok? A win is not necessary but would be gravy?

These are western conference foes and we need to put 'em where the sun don't shine. (and I don't mean HCP's basement).

5-1 road trip!
Based on that injury report, the Blazers apparently also think 3-3 on this trip is OK.

how pissed is Dame right now? you know he doesn't want to miss this game

*I* am never ok with any loss - I hate it when they lose. I'm just trying to be more rational (which always fails during the actual games).

Well, that is disappointing. Especially with Gp2 still unavailable. And we want to consolidate?

This needs to be another ugly win. NO has a big lineup with Ingram and Jones at the wings along with Zion and Val. Maybe Chauncey thinks if he has to rest Dame, this is the match-up to do it. I guess Keon is off the injury report. We will need him.

Maybe. If he's shooting 25-30%, not so much. Those two games against Phoenix destroyed his efficiency numbers.

Good idea to rest Dame. Gotta take care of that calf!

The Pop school of thought. Get the guaranteed win on the second night of a road back to back early in the season. Hope you get the 2nd night but don’t strain for it.

Yeah. The Pels are on a B2B also and they don't have the depth Portland has shown. I think you are spot on here. They went after a win last night and rested their bigs for tonight. The Pels Bigs are going to be tired.

I was only thinking about his defense at the guard position. I see this game having a lot of fouls called

I think fresh bigs are more important in this game then our guards. CJ will most likely go 3-17 regardless

Cj has come back down fromvthe hot streak he went on post trade. 48% ts% on the season, which is abysmal.

So we're tossing this game for no reason. Really??
Why on earth would you even think that. let alone post it.
What you just said was, "without Dame, they cannot win"...
Probably should re-think that one.
In case you haven't noticed yet, (and I do not believe you have!), the Portland TrailBlazers are a deep team. A very good team. Perhaps, enough to take any combination of 2 starters out, and still win, like they already have in this young season, multiple times.

“I wasn’t put in the position to run point, and when I was I don’t know if I was necessarily ready earlier in my career,” McCollum says of his eight-plus seasons in Portland. “Now, this is my basketball potential being unlocked to the fullest."

“My assist-to-turnover ratio will be off the chain. Before the season’s over it’ll be top five in the NBA,” says McCollum, who currently ranks eighth (3.5) among players averaging at least 30 minutes. His previous career high is 2.5, which was set last season. “I’ll average close to 10 assists a game for the season because I’ve worked on this stuff,” he continues. “It’s not like I didn’t just go out here experimenting. I know how to run a team, and I’m learning how to think the game.”

McCollum isn’t a pure point who orchestrates the offense like a throwback such as John Stockton, but he’s averaging more points and almost twice as many assists as he did in Portland—and that’s despite him nursing a middle finger injury on his shooting hand that has limited his play. On a team with so many players who can handle the ball, it makes sense to have a guard like McCollum who can excel whether he’s running the show or sprinting around screens. But on most nights, his primary role now is to set up his teammates.

Also says his shooting hand is injured. Maybe he should stop shooting then.

Dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble...shoooooot!
Lucky for CJ, a missed shot doesn't count as a turnover.

we are sitting out our best player in game 12 of the season against an opponent who we would like to get a tiebreaker against after he has already missed 4 games.

i'm totally on board with load management, but figured that woulda come last night, not tonight. we need to pickup as many WC wins as possible and we have decided not to put our best foot forward.

Almost makes me nostalgic for the days of Damon. Dribble 20 seconds off the clock and then either puke up a questionable shot or make a flaming bag pass to a team-mate.

Wtf Dame is out?? He was just talking about how it was going to be fun playing against Cj and what not

wow

The odds of a tie can't be that good against one specific team. If they had to pick one day (of the two) to rest him, this is the better option. We could very easily have lost that game last night without Dame, and then again tonight against a much better team....with Dame. Neither is ideal, but I would take the bird in the hand
