I’m not a big fan. He’s a homer for one. He acts like an insider when he’s not. His takes mostly suck. Today he kept insisting that Dillon Brooks is 6’8” when any basketball nerd like myself knows he’s 6’5” maybe 6’6”….

I feel like his cohost is being condescending toward him a lot too.

  • Agreed that he talks about Ant like he's his own son. He can do no wrong in his eyes. And he clearly wants people to think highly of Ant, but doesn't realize his over-the-top review of him makes most dismiss the praise even when it's valid.
  • Because he's such a USC honk, he tends to over-value Trojans and have hatrid towards former Oregon players.
  • While it's clear he thinks he's the smartest person in the room, what bugs me most about him is that he loves to cut people off and try to finish their sentence for them. So many times Sprague will wait for Danny to talk for 2-3 minutes, then attempt to make his point, only to be cut off again by Danny.
I guess not everyone can be perfect like us!

I only listen because he talks to enough people working for various NBA teams that he does get some intel sometimes, but yeah all of the above is true.

He's also very willing to share that info (probably cause of the smartest guy in the room syndrome) as compared to other folks to probably talk to the same people but don't leak that information.

No doubt. The people with the best sources do not have to constantly tell you how connected they are.

Though I have to give it to him: He managed to take that outsiders show and turn it into a full time radio gig. Obviously a few people think he's doing something right.

I don't listen to the podcast cause I can't stand him, even though I love Sprague.

He's a blowhard that thinks he knows a lot, but it's just used car salesman talk "sound and fury signifying nothing".

I like dusty too. Is that who is being condescending to him? Dusty is good people but he keeps getting either really shitty hosts or ones that are there like 2 days a week cause it's their side gig.

Payton has gone from out-->check in 2 weeks-->ready soon-->available-->out-->maybe/maybe not-->out-->available-->questionable....and the last 7 status reports have all happened in about 3 weeks

I actually really like Payton when he plays but christ. This is the second game he's missed with 'non-covid illness' not to mention the various injuries.
