I’m so embarrassed that the Blazers bench unit lost to the Kings’ full squad.

Not even sure this was the bench unit, as much as it was the backups to the bench unit.

But people act like Sacramento isn't a good team this year. Sure, it's the first time they've been remotely relevant in like 20 years, but they're still light years away from where Portland is.

And I don't mean that as a back handed compliment to the Kings, they're much better off than Portland is (* as of right now).

I don't agree that they're light years away from where the Blazers are right now. It's been so long since the starters were healthy, I think people are getting a jaundiced view about the team. I'm expecting Dame to lead them on a winning streak.

Cam Reddish dropped Simons numbers on the board.
24/4/4, Blazer fans should be oozing with gratitude, recognition and comrodery about Cam's bright future as a young player with tremendous upside on the Portland Trailblazers.
I agree on the upside and I'm cautiously optimistic. However his stats in this particular game shouldn't obfuscate his many mistakes and poor play at times. His numbers are the result of his talent in spite of his poor play.

sorry, I meant as the rosters were set up last night. The Kings are the what, 3rd or 4th best team in the west (record wise), and Portland with the players they played last night, would give Houston a run for their money as worst team in the league.

as for comparing the teams healthy, I'd say the Kings are still ahead of Portland. But that's just this year. Give this team a year or 2 (hopefully Sharpe develops as we hope, and they get a good pick or 2 this year) and things should be different.

couldn't watch the game as was blizzard driving in Idaho and eastern oregon, looks like Nas had a very good game - did he look as good as stats indicated?
Yes. NAS was the best Blazer on the court.

*5th year is a team option. If he’s not cutting the mustard early next season I think canning him is fine—sucks that Snyder is off the board, though.

I have no doubt people on the message board are fine with Jody paying him for multiple years to not coach. I don't think Jody has shown us any reason to believe she's fine with it.

totally. I’m just saying that next year I think the leash will be shorter.

3rd and only 2 games out of 2nd!

How’s this guy, Simmons?

If you are asking who Bill Simmons is, he's the founder of The Ringer https://www.theringer.com/ it's quite a big presence in the world of sports journalism and has a presence in other areas of journalism. Before The Ringer, Simmons ran Grantland for ESPN, before that he wrote for ESPN as The Sports Guy. He's the author of two best sellers "Now I Can Die in Peace" about the Red Sox 2004 World Series victory and being a Boston sports fan, after that he wrote "The Book of Basketball: The NBA according to the Sports Guy".

He's fairly well known and pretty prolific.

And here I assumed he was just a "bitter fuckwit"

Frustrating year and I think next season will be too. Nothing will stop me from being a fan but it would be nice to see a ray of light somewhere and I aint finding a thing to give me a real bounce.

We aren't tanking. We're "evaluating."
the future of this team is at winning crossroads no matter which route they take.
-Lose a few games and keep the draft pick? WIN
-Make playoffs and Chicago gets their pick? Oh, well that frees up future tradable assests. BIG WIN
-Go full tank and draft a top 7 ?? SUPER WIN

everything is peachy, Go Blazers !!

Thanks. Try the veal. My rule is to never refer to him the same way twice. Cronin is keeping me on my toes, linguistically.
