People keep talking about wasting Dame's prime. Unless something crazy happens, Dame's prime still is a few more years, and then there are several years of quality basketball after that depending on how long he wants to keep playing.
the fear isn't his dropoff.

the fear is the opportunity cost of wasting away an MVP caliber yr while potentially not even making the play-in

you can tell how unnatural he felt chucking at the end there. but when you're that close to 70, gotta go after it.

Get the man some help for fuck sakes. Could you imagine what Balmer would do to surround Dame with other stars? Vulcan just doesn't seem to get it, at least yet. Maybe they will. What more can one player give an organization?

Balmer's team just lost at home to the Sacramento Kings.
And is behind by 14 to the Nuggets.

The fear at this point is as ridiculous as always looking at the sky whenever you walk outside for fear of an object falling on your head.

Lot easier to do in LA where you get players handed to you for dogshit.

Who could we get that would make a significant difference?
i think there were quite a few players moved who would have made a tangible difference to our playoff hopes this year. it might have hurt our long term salary books, but to just cut $ at the deadline and punt on this year.... ugh.

even 5-6 games above .500 right now, and dame woulda been in legitimate MVP discussion.

Yes. I was just texting back and forth with a buddy. He said, it’s sad that a guy that is so loyal to an organization and yet they don’t seem loyal in trying to put a team around him.

I can honestly say I don't think we will ever see this record broken.

Some interesting perspective:

In the games where Booker scored 70 and Mitchel scored 71, were in 45 and 50 minutes respectively.

71 in 39 minutes. Yeah, no one is beating that.

we are currently the 11 seed. that's not even in the play-in.

but sure.

Hey, you want to worry about everything that's out of your control and largely out of everyone's control, be my guest. You've got one of the best NBA players in history on your team and he should be playing at a high level for several more years. That puts us closer to a championship level team regardless of where we finish in the standings this year, because we have an absolute elite talent to start with.

"But sure."

Dame is in the MVP conversation right now.

While true, team record probably knocks him out unfortunately.

Though, and it's a different sport entirely, King Felix won a Cy Young on a bad team so who the hell knows lol

Steve Nash won two without a ring....Derrick Rose won one without the ring.....Dame is better than both of them

obviously, it's out of everyone's control. not sure what you're trying to convey.

the one person who does have control is very much NOT motivated by doing right around the best thing that's ever happened to this franchise. that should bug more people than it seems like it is...
