He should have been playing heavy minutes since at least the Hart trade... better late than never, I suppose.

With that being said, I wouldn't be shocked if he's back down to 18 or 20 minutes next game.
With Nate McBillups coaching. No, unfortunately it wouldn't be a surprise.

Wizards move ahead of Portland for the 6th seed. One ill-timed win will do that

Sharpe really looked comfortable playing off Dame. More comfortable than Ant?

Watford is showing a lot of different skills and he's only 22

There seems to be this fear of suggesting that he has the potential of being a starter on this team. He's 21 years old and capable of 21/9/5 with 2 steals. Is that not a potential starter?
He just came off a pretty long slump ...good to see him finish at the rim and make 2pt shots tonight...

no shit, ANT hardly ever passes his way

He was also a +28. Should’ve been starting from day 1.
He's the type of star that every team wants. A threat on offense always, and if you aren't careful with your passes he'll grab it out of the air.
And his rebounds, some of them are ones that only he could have grabbed (at least among Trail Blazers.)

There's zero chance Blazers get anything lower than the 5th pick and sitting at 6th they have a statistically better shot at getting 1-5 or 7th (like last year) then they do the 6th. unleash Sharpe and let the young guys cook, If they win a few it wont matter at this point.

It's definitely not a good look for Billups that Sharpe has been relegated to the bench most of the season, while the Blazers have been less than mediocre.
Instead he's been fitting the square peg of Simons into the backcourt for reasons only he knows.

I'll take 1-4.

Love Sharpes game but again it was one game against one of the worst defenses in the league. Can’t wait to see how good he becomes but little bit of over reaction with him being starter. No knock on Sharpe he’s going to very very good but he wasn’t ready and would have been unfair to expect a kid who hadn’t played in year to come in and start against the best players in the world. Plus not like Simons is bad he’s-one of the best 3pt shooters in the NBA

I want to see what a Nurk, Grant and Watford front line looks like for a game.

This was probably the best overall game for Sharpe so far. Love the growth I have seen in the kid. He is lucky he is quick enough to retain his own mishandled dribbles most of the time. Right now, his handle is probably the biggest roadblock to stardom. I hope he works on his handle more than anything else this off-season.

I was happy to see Watford and Nurk in there together for an extended time. They looked good but the way Watford plays I think he can fit well with most players.....at PF. He filled the stat sheet pretty well. 21/9 with 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, and only 1 TO in 35 minutes.

I know he has had some really bad games and it is usually caused by unforced errors. But I love his potential when he plays with the starters and the more he plays the fewer careless turnovers he will make IMO. He just needs to slow down at times and play under control. That is fixable

Ant either needs to be a 6th man, or else traded.

I agree with you. I think we would all be happy if he helped bring back a talented wing or big. But yeah I have always thought he would be an ideal 6th man. Yes, he has a big salary for a bench player, but you can't expect Dame to stay healthy all season anymore. I wouldn't mind keeping him as insurance.

this roster is not good enough to have a 25 mil bench player. if we are sold on sharpe, we need to move Ant asap and get shaedon in with Dame.
Agreed.

And I would be shocked if we were sold on Sharpe, therefore I think the smart money is on Ant being on the roster for a while.
