I believe you when you say that you don't remember people pushing for Ant. The other fan desired lineups you mentioned were also a thing. Anyone with a brain would've loved a CJ for Siakam trade.

You are incorrect that the desire/willingness to trade CJ had nothing to do with giving Ant those minutes.
No one wanted Ant to take those minutes. They were willing to settle with it but everyone wanted Norm or Hart. And now everyone wants Sharpe. All three make sense next to Dame.

There was only one reason to hang a poster on a ceiling….you thinking this is one that would go up there explains SO MUCH!

well, you're a poster....if somebody was to hang you on a ceiling there would need to be some sturdy engineering before the hang

I am a huge fan of Nurk, but it's time to turn the page and become more mobile and play faster. I also don't think you should allocate 17m a year for a center unless he's top 5.

It's not about the individual. It's about the end result. Same with Ant Simons. I think he's going to go on and be a great offensive player. The end result for the team is not satisfactory.
I’m no capologist, but isn’t 17M for a starting center pretty cheap. Thats why I don’t upset every night Nurk plays like shit…..I don’t expect much from him to be honest.

Neither of those statements are accurate.

Personally I like Ant I think he’s a nice piece unfortunately he and Dame aren’t a good backcourt. If for some reason Dame were to be traded I’d be happy to have Ant and Sharpe as our starting backcourt. That said I also think Ant will be the piece we trade along with draft picks to get another big name. Going to be fun off season.

Change that Laker logo to this and then you got something. Just finalized my booking with the Clip-Show thru the first round. #DollaDollaBillsYall

Curious how you define "aren't a good backcourt" and if you felt Dame and CJ fell in that same category.

Like most pairings, they are not perfect. Would I take a Dame/Ant backcourt over a majority of the other backcourts in the league? Yes.

The gravity of that pairing all rests on Dame. Just like the gravity of the Dame/CJ pairing all rested on Dame. Simons is as relevant in that equation as much as CJ was, which was not much at all. Yes, he can do a couple of things well like shoot from the edges. But there's no real reason to say Simons is integral to the pairing. He's the player you plug-in because poor management has left you no better alternative

I mean, in many very real ways, a Dame/Hart pairing would be better than a Dame/Ant pairing; just like Dame/Matthews was better that Dame/CJ.

look at it another way: how good a back court would CJ/Ant be? And would anybody really try to defend keeping that pairing?

there are dozens of players in the NBA who would very likely be better fits at SG next to Dame than Ant. Their availability, or lack of, is the only recommendation for Dame/Ant

Ant (not counting our pick) is our best available trade chip. If not traded, he's 6th man of the year material.
