I think it's pretty obvious that Cronin listens to Billups. I don't think that was the case with the previous GM and coach
I think it's pretty obvious that they're both a couple of smart guys who understand Dame's greatness and what it takes to access that both by way of personnel and strategy. It's nice to finally see after a decade of pure frustration.

For those losing their mind last February, do you still want to undo the RoCo/Norm for Winslow/Keon trade now?

I didn't think it was a great talent:talent trade, but didn't mind the move. Even as a defender of the trade, it looks like I was wrong for not defending it harder.

Sorry, but I have to play devil's advocate here.

Nance has been playing well and making a good contribution in NO. Would you want him back? I put Winslow in the same boat. He can contribute when healthy...but history says you can't rely on him. I applaud him for helping the team tonight, but until he proves he can do it for an entire season I am not changing my mind about him. To be clear, I want him to succeed, just as I wanted Nance to succeed.

So I looked about 10 times from about 15 angles....We got a little home cooking on the road with the clock and Grant's feet. He took like 3 steps before he shot without dribbling. Crazy thing was, everybody (suns bench included) were all looking at the ball in his hand. Nobody complained. Also, that might have been the longest 1 second in history. Clock didn't start when he first touched it. Oh well. We definitely got away with one here tonight and I'll take it. Great road win.

I love all of this content but object to the idea that Justise has ever been a guard. In the NBA that he came into he was a small forward and in the NBA that has evolved since then he would be considered a swing forward, being able to play the 3 or the 4.

When he came out of Duke he was absolutely drafted as a SG.

It’s okay because there should of been like 1.7 on the clock but they never looked at it.

Never seen excuses from Billups, so much so it’s infuriating at times.

I always wanted Monty Williams as Blazers coach, but his responses come off as excuses and I’m good and appreciate Billups that much more.
Dame the GM >>>> Lebron the GM.

If you believe Dame wanted Chauncey and Grant, which all signs indicate is true. Imagine Dame the ACTUAL GM maybe after he retires. I hope he stays part of the Organization or buys the team. I'm pretty sure Dame wanted Sharpe and Ant as well if memory serves.

Dunno if I've ever seen a pro sports team do this, like this, before.
You know, they all s'posed to act all cool an everthing.....
This team really cares for each other. I think they are as happy for Jerami as they were winning the game.
Chemistry can do amazing things.
This is still gonna be a difficult trip, or, it should be......??

Norm and RoCo still had more value than they got back. Winslow had zero value at the time and could've been gotten without giving those guys up. But Cronin got guys that fit Chauncey which matters. Really glad we have him as our coach, by the way.

It's just impressive that Lamar, more so than Calabro shares insights to the play in real time that I only realize after he says it or right when he says it. National broadcasters say shit all of the time several seconds after I've said it to friends watching with me or thought it to myself if watching the game on my own.

I guess that's why Lamar is a color commentator for a team at the highest level of basketball without ever playing an NBA game and I'm just me. Thanks so much for the insight sir. I always appreciate it.
Lamar is awesome.

"It's hard to beat teams in back to back games!" - Something you won't hear come from Chauncey.

I'm not sure I agree with your opinion on their value. Long contracts over market value (Norm) are not loved around this league. I can't confirm, but rumor was that they were not Billups fans either.

Agreed that Cronin has done a great job of getting players who fit, it's a nice change! Billups is doing a fine job as well. I hope people aren't quick to turn on him down the road.

Nothing wrong with playing devil's advocate or having positive things to say about CJ/Nance/RoCo/Norm. Those guys do not sucks.

My question for you is: Knowing their salaries, fit, etc. if you could undo either of those trades today, would you?

Glad you mentioned the analytics guy.
I really do not like him. Not surprising 'cos I'm not an analytics guy anyway, but he is annoying.
My 2 cents.

During a timeout he is fine. During the action.....agree very annoying.

Watched that last shot a few more times. Yes that last second seemed to go a very long time.

Maybe by 2 10ths of a second. But his shot also cleared his fingertips by about 2 10ths. Either way, there should have been slightly more time on the clock.

As for the travel....yes it was traveling, just like all the step-back 3s that happen all game long, in every game. Not sure why they let that go every game, but will usually call travel 25 feet from the basket when a player initiates his move.

Great game from Winslow.
12/9/9/2
And solid defense.

This team has great balance. Guys willing to do the dirty work.
Yep, he played really well and it was great to see Nas have a very solid all-around game and getting back to the form we saw from him last year pre injury! Many folks ragging on Nas - my god he was out for a long time, he just needed time to shake the rust off.

Good question, and I don't have a simple answer. The early results on the CJ deal look good. If it continues this way, I will cheerfully admit I was wrong. RoCo just needed to go. I am still not sold on the Powell situation. He was a productive player in Toronto, we gave up a promising young player in Trent for him, we gave him an extension, then we shipped him out for Winslow ( already mentioned) and Keon (who I am not impressed with). I still think he was dealt for financial reasons and that any on-court benefits have been a happy accident.

Ignoring the money for the moment, would you rather have Trent?
