I have to believe that Ingles' game is much less predicated on athleticism than Murray's is. I have no doubt that Joe can still bomb 3's even with questionable mobility.

that's true

'Molasses Joe' has managed to be very effective on both ends of the floor for years. Athleticism and speed aren't tools in his toolbox although any guy who makes it in the NBA has to have some of both. His BBIQ is excellent

my big concern is a suspicion he will be pretty limited next season coming back from that injury

WOW looks like Spurs already tanking oh and Denver downgraded their roster simply because they don’t want to pay luxury tax. Some Poor owner who rather save money than winning.

Yeah Denver doesn't even have a 2023 FRP?

This brunson stuff is hilarious. This guy is hollywood. Holding meeting like hes an all star. And now Miami is also pitching him?

Would be even funnier if he turns down the Knicks after they made all those moves and gave up all those picks for him
Since it's the Knicks, that does seem like the likely outcome, right?

What wouldn't be funny is when we had to match the offersheet the Knicks would then turn around and give Ant. So let's hope the Knicks land him or Ant just signs really soon.

yes crazy that a guy who is averaging 12-4-3 for his career is forcing teams to move heaven and earth to meet him and throw contracts worth over 125 million at him. also crazy that NY gave up multiple picks to clear room for him already without a guarantee to sign him.

Move heaven and earth to meet him? Seems a bit much

check out the wording.

Brunson will hold free agent meetings in New York, sources said.

The Mavericks will be given an opportunity to present an offer sweet enough to entice the four-year veteran into re-signing. Owner Mark Cuban, general manager Nico Harrison, head coach Jason Kidd and potentially a few players are expected to attend the meeting, sources said.

Dallas was initially hoping to come to terms on a five-year, $106 million deal, but that offer would not get it done, sources said.

The Knicks are viewed as the frontrunners and the expectation is an offer of four years, in the vicinity of a whopping $110 million will be proposed, sources said.

It would likely take somewhere close to a five-year, $125 million commitment from the Mavericks to prevent Brunson from signing with the Knicks, sources said.

There is a darkhorse team in play: the Miami Heat, as they’ve secured a meeting, too, sources said. In order for the Heat to acquire Brunson, it would take a sign-and-trade agreement.

It does seem like some LeBron shit but this is a barren free agent class. Too many RFAs and too many guys either already under contract or who used to be elite players.

I dont see anything off in there.
Also posting his career stats to diminish him seems wrong. It'd be like LOLZ, portland offered a career 10-2-2 guyb80 million dollars!

sure i get that. brunson is a starting caliber player but the 25 mil number for him is insane. even last year, at age 25, dude put up 16-5-4. solid numbers but will he ever sniff an all star team?

Agreed. Even with a bigger role away from Luka, seems like an overpay to me. He's good. Not great.

is there anything that DOESNT trigger you? jeez. might wanna take your own advice and go outside

So how is he a diva exactly? Still not seeing the issue here. Sorry he’s worth more than you think he is?

i'm not allowed to have an opinion now?

if Ant was a UFA and holding meetings like this while offers were already on the table (that too, in a city where the team wooing him already made moves in anticipation of his arrival while hiring his dad just months prior), you'd feel differently. or maybe not... you just seem to want to be contrarian about shit while calling other people dumb. don't really care.

I think it would be really funny if after getting Harden to opt out of almost 50M in guaranteed money for next season the Sixers told him they changed their mind on whatever long term deal they have on the table that got him to do that. Where would Harden even go and how much could he even draw on the free agent market at this point? Obviously they won't do that and tomorrow or later on tonight they'll announce a four year deal worth like 35M a season or some shit. Harden get's another 90M guaranteed and the Sixers get some money off their books for next season.

Based on the big man targets that Haynes spoke of today I'm guessing we're going to use the MLE on a wing and look for a backup big in the vet min market...
