My bracket is killing it! I'm in first still at work. Nailed the Arkansas upset. If Carolina beats UCLA tomorrow, I'll have it wrapped up before we even get to the Elite 8 FAMS!

I do question Paolo's motor/effort/mental activity as the reason for his lacking defense. His offensive footwork shows he has the physical skills be be a good defender. Your comps are pretty good!

Agree Smith doesn't dribble well, which is why I said his playmaking was a concern.
i don't think paolo's desire or mental makeup is the problem as much as he doesn't really know how to use his size and athleticism yet. i think that will come along in a yr or two.

Looks like you just based your bracket off who would’ve won in 1993, which was the last time you watched a college game
I watched the final game that year on the big screen at Crisler Arena with my fellow Michigan students. Devastating game. We rally, have a chance to win and then Webber calls the timeout.

I'm not going off opinion, I'm going off of facts. If you're a top 4 seed, your seed would say you should make the Sweet 16. If you're the #1 overall you should win. If you're a #1 seed, you should make the final four. If you go back and look at their seeds, there are only 2 years where they exceed expectations in the last 11.

And that's no rip on Gonzaga, they are a great program, with a great coach. Just pointing out facts.
Overperforming would be doing better than 50% of one seeds.

Not making the Final Four as a 1 seed isn't "underperforming" though. It's hard as fuck to make the Final Four regardless of where you're seeded.
Yeah i always kind of think after the sweet 16 it's a crap shoot? Those 8 games are always tough to win. Seeding essentially goes out the window. If the team is playing a elite 8 game they are playing a team that can beat them. It's why we call it March Madness.

I didn't know you went to Michigan, Eric. Are you sure you're not mis-remembering from watching The Big Chill too many times?

Overperforming would be doing better than their overall seed rank. If you're a #1 overall seed, it is impossible to overperform. If you are a 4 seed, you would need to make it further than that Sweet 16 to overperform.

The #1 overall seed losing in the Sweet 16 would be underperforming. Doesn't make them a bad program, bad coach, etc.

Do we know that for sure? I can kind of see him wanting to come back for another shot. But it's definitely the end of Drew Timme's college career.

Why on earth would he come back for another shot? He's got the hype, he's got the guaranteed top 3 pick. He's got nothing else to prove at the collegiate level.

It'd be like Zion saying "nah, I'm gonna come back to Duke for one more year."not comparing the players, but comparing the situation. It'd be idiotic for him to go for another year.

Um, to win a title? Y'know, same reason people like Chris Webber went back to school?

30 years ago, it would have been ludicrous to even suggest Chet would go pro after one year of college, with how far away he is from being physically ready. I'd hate to be the GM drafting him in the top-3, figuring his rookie contract might be up before we even know if he'll be able to contribute.

I miss the days when guys went pro because they were ready for the next step, rather than to get a head start on their rookie deal so they can start making the big bucks quicker.

There you go

I picked Kansas to win it all, but my bracket is generally busted.

Yessir. @THE HCP wraps up the Blazers Bracket Challenge before the damn Elite 8. Thanks Hubert Davis and the tar heels! #KnowledgeBombsDropped

So defense wins championship but damn, the Houston Cougars missed 19 three pointers. If they made just 4 they win.
