I'm going to assume your question implies you don't think he does anything else.

21/5 as a starting SG isn't terrible. So he can score on and off the ball, create for others at times, and reduce help-side defenders effectiveness.

So two out of three things that you used as a rebuttal to me saying he scores is that.... he scores.... and his scoring reduces help-side defenders effectiveness. Well.... that's still..... scoring. He puts up a few assists. That's nice. I think Brogdon is a better facilitator than Simons. He's also considered a better defender. And if you didn't notice, he scored more points tonight on better shooting splits. :dunno:

Ant is a good scorer. Maybe a great scorer. But I think Brogdon is a more complete player right now.

ya know like is it chauncey billups fault that scoot henderson gets blocked at 0:38?

its not a matter of the players shot selection at all?

what about jerami grant getting blocked by zubac at 0:49?

that one on coach billups too?

the players are underestimating the quality of the help defense.. no? Its a matter of feel for the game no? prime D-Wade finds some way to get free throws on those drives, cuz he anticipates the defender successfully, instead Scoot n Grant fail n get stuffed..

clearly thats a matter of poor shot selection..

is coach billups responsible for famine and war in the middle east as well? it never ends with these blamegame people..

Cuz when I see this footage I think, Zubac's in good shape this season! he's looking leaner than usual!

Ya know its like the world doesnt revolve around the portland trailblazers, the other team n their players are involved in the result of the game as well! breaking news!

I don't use the box score from one game to make my point or draw conclusions, but if Ant having a better game than Brogdon next week will change your mind, I'll bring it back up.

I like Brodgon, but I'm going to stay away from the new shiny object syndrome.

Neither Ant nor Brogdon should be a top 3 player on a roster.

Brogdon is a ROY. he’s a 6MOTY. I think he has a tad bit better resume than one game.

He scores.

What else does he do?
I was really impressed with Ant tonight.
He made some really good reads. He had several drive & kicks right on the money.

He actually tried to play defense.

I've been in the trade Ant camp - but so far in preseason & tonight's game, Id want to keep him.

If the entire offense is built around isos and players going one on one while making it up as they go, that is 100% on the coach.

No matter how bad the spurs are, pop has that team playing good basketball. They just have not had great talent. Good coaches teach good basketball. Ball movement, player movement. ISO bullshit was McMillan ball. It was Stotts ball. It’s currently Billups ball. I’d love to get a coach that pushes his team to pass the damn ball and move without the ball.

You brought up his box score tonight as a part of your point, not me. If single game boxscores are irrelevant, I'll pretend you never said it.

Ok. He shot way better from the floor last season and way better from three. Do full seasons count?

I miss the days of being upset the GM wasn't a chemistry major and debating on if the head coach was good enough to get us to the finals after making a couple conference finals. Those were fun problems!
If only Zach Collins stayed healthy. We could have watched playoff teams dunk on him more often.

If not Andre Miller, we would have lost by 60. I hope he can teach Scoot some magic before we trade him to contender.

We were talking about the 1998-2000 Blazers. Zach was 2 at the time and most certainly would've been a liability.

Nope you get Free Chicken McNuggies with a $2 purchase. Haven't had to make a purchase in the past.
a cold sodium carbonate beverage is recommended. It will help dissolve whatever mystery meat McDonald's put in those nuggets that day.

the '99 Blazers?? You'd have to bust out a Nintendo 64 to remember that roster. Generic All-Star NBA cartridge with Keith Van Horn on the cover.

It pisses me off that we don’t have more designed plays, especially plays designed to get Shae moving downhill towards the hoop. I think when he’s driving he’s incredibly effective both scoring and setting up his teammates.
Not only that, but Chauncey's teams seem to have to clue how to play out of freelance.

Ayton doesnt even need a system... just throw him the ball and get the heck out of the way, hes got plenty of moves, the hookshot, the jumpshot..

thats why tonights game is certainly an aberration when it comes to the 4FGA's.. its likely that'll be his season low FGA's, especially for him to have 4FGA's in a loss is peculiar when u look back at his gamelogs from last season when he had just a few fga's they'd be in blowout wins or when he just played 8 mintues or something..
He is not that type of guy. Chauncey did just this out of halftime and Ayton gabe Zubac one of the easiest blocks of his career. He's not someone that you give the ball to and get out of the way.

I assume you're kidding.

How would we be better off losing by 10 instead of 26 and not having a 19 year-old prospect and Robert Williams and future draft picks?
So you are so invested in this position you actually think that 19 year old will match Lillard? The kid can't shoot. You know it and so does everyone else. Draft Picks? You want more draft picks? Really? Lets see? At least they aren't over the luxury tax so they don't have to spend any more of their deceased owners estate.
I'm happy you and many others will enjoy this season. I for one will not. The last time this team had multiple seasons under 30 wins was 2004-05 and 2005-06 followed by a 32 win season after firing a coach. Many call that era the darkest this team has had. Well Winter is coming and it's gonna get pretty dark.

Ant is the best player on the roster right now. Didn't say he was a great player. He's better than Brogdon.

Someone here put up a comparison between Ant and Brogdon. It overwhelmingly favored Brogdon as the better overall player. Ant had some higher volume wins, but Brodgon was far more efficient, a much higher average shooter, a better defender, and a better passer. It's like the whose the greatest Blazer discussion. Dame is the best scorer, but not sure he was the best overall player. Defense, rebounding, blocks, steals, assists....all make a complete player.

Hopefully Ant gets to the level of even where Brogdon was last year when he was one of a very few 50/40/90 guys in the history of the NBA.
