Clear out of the way? That kind of sounds like ISO ball to me. Isn't that what we have been trying to get away from? I would like to see him add a few more pounds before we run him into the ground. Those hits he would take by attacking the basket even more than he does....will add up. He is already playing 40 minutes a game and with the injuries, we need him out on the floor. I am sure they can find a few more possessions for him to attack, but is that really the issue right now? We need Scoot, Brogdon, and Simons back.
This is what I'm talking about. Call it what you want. I call it "Sharpe making the defense react, then he decides what to do."
Lebron James has been very effective with these kinds of situations.
Do you see where Ayton is? OUTSIDE THE 3-point line. So many people have re-iterated that there's no spacing. Then what is this?
In this particular possession, Camara's defender has sagged off Camara and that's exactly where Sharpe puts the ball, to Camara, who drains a 3-point shot.
If Camara's man doesn't help defend, Sharpe will continue forward. If nobody else helps, Sharpe will score or be fouled.
If Grant's man helps, Sharpe will throw the ball to Grant.
Sharpe's at-his-own-pace play style is huge in these situations.
Why is this not our typical offense?
I am SO TIRED of our "point guards" dribbling the clock down for a "Play" or whatever the hell it is.
This offense below makes other team worry. It gets fouls on their players. It gets open 3-pointers.
I watch Billups' offense and wonder, what the hell is he trying to accomplish, and why is he making it so difficult?
