I'm watching the game and confirming the numbers are backing up what I'm watching.

You're looking for a narrative to prop up the players you like and diminish the players you don't like, regardless of the facts. I hate to break it to you, but every guard on this team (and other teams) dribbles into a crowd at times, including Sharpe, Dame, Giannis, Scoot, etc.

im happy that he shoots them, in game shooting is the best possible practice, but id like to see him take more mid range shots and more slashing to the basket

Yeah, he's in a tricky spot. Not a great shooter, but has to take enough to warrant being defended.
