im most impressed at how he's improved on two key skills that he was deficient at: defense and drawing fouls
He’s a completely different player than last year. Also miles better as a playmaker and making the right decisions.

People are blind if they can’t see that.

How do you lose a game where you out rebound the other team by 14 and shoot almost 47% from three?

The Wiz have some win now pieces that I expect them to keep. I think we'll send Jerami and Malcolm out in trades and be even less competitive.

I can see us ducking into the bottom three to have a three way tie for the best lotto odds.

Win now? They aren't winning shit. Going right back to losing after this.

jerami also did nothing for us in the fourth. didn't get key rebounds, missed 3 FTs, defense was meh. we made the mad comeback when he was on the bench with jabari in instead.

not sure what he had done to even earn an iso call when his efficiency is such shit in these situations.

yaaa, this team has competitors.
yaaa, this team never gives up.
yaaa, this was a Blazers home game, and the 2nd worse team in the NBA just spanked Portland.

Billups coached an ass game. They tied it with Bari in there instead of Grant. All they had to do was play through Ant and let Ant make the right play. Everyone else play defense and rebound.

Instead, he went away with what was working.

Surround Ant with long defensive talent. I’d like a better rim runner than Ayton, but we’re stuck with him. Scoot can develop slowly off the bench. Stop playing 3-4 guard lineups for fucks sake.

He is ok at coaching individual players. He doesn't know the first thing about coaching a team.

chauncey is really lucky Ant is mild mannered and humble. Any other star experiences what he just did, coach would be in the firing line in a week. that is a trust killer.
Dame would have shot an air ball before we got that ass play call.

You turn the ball over more than your opponent, you get 10 more fouls called against you and you shoot worse from two than you do from three... which also inflates those rebounding numbers because around 40% of those rebounds were offensive rebounds and a ton of them didn't result in second chance points.

Yeah he certainly earned the final shot.

as he should.

how is chauncey still out of his depth, man? dude has been coaching for three years now. learning curve is not THAT steep.

yeah, I'm not understanding the last play call too much. Simons was really hot, and the Wizards had no answer for Ant + any screen....he was open every time for either spot-up or dribble drive

I was impressed with Ant and it wasn't because he was scalding hot....I was impressed with the fact that with just a few exceptions, he was really quick with his decisions tonight. No over-dribbling while the shot clock ran. Attack or shoot

an unacceptable performance by the starting unit. Agains the Wizards. Horrible.

Billups need to stop talking about what he wants and make some changes.

Gafford had as many blocks as the entire Blazers team. (6)

i don't trust chauncey. don't really trust cronin either, but he can certainly persuade billups to play the right guys by making some moves.

It would take a monster offer to move Ant but if that offer comes we should do it. Ant is young and he will be at the top of his game when Shae is, so that's not a problem but Ant is ready to contribute to wins right now... so if a team that needs wins right now is willing to pay a serious premium for him, you've got to move him... if and only if you feel confident about where Scoot will be when everything shakes out.

oh dear. did he just throw him under the bus?

Kinda sounds that way...

Question - what was the idea on the last play? Was that a look similar to what we saw the other night with Ant coming off, or were you looking for JG for a 4 on 4?

Billups - No, it was the same play we just ran before that when Ant got the dunk coming down hill. Several options on the play and Jerami just caught it and just kinda went 1 on 1 which I've got to live with that. He's one of our best players, he's a great one on one player, but the only thing I will say is I wish he would have went a little sooner, just in case he missed it we would have had a chance at a tip back. It took a little too long to get there."
