we want Phoenix to think they won the Nurkic trade. Keep Ayton a secret. Show tiny undersized Center photos. That way Phoenix will keep the trade phone open, and Portland can grab more good Suns players in the future.
phoenix won the trade 100%

they got what they needed, ayton is not who you think he is (but then again, people thought whiteside is better than nurk, even kanter, cause they were more efficient and were able to put up stats... turned out, they were empty stats and both are out of the league while nurk plays for a legit contender that specifically targeted him and for a good reason or few, one would think)

Still Nurk obsessed eh? OK. We got 25-year old, reliably healthy Ayton, and Camara for the oft injured Nurk (Ayton is better for that metric alone btw) who is 29 and rapidly declining. Then we traded an undersized often injured Nassir little and a fringe NBA player combo guard in Keon Johnson. We absolutely knocked that trade out of the park.

You forgot to mention Toumani Camara.

looking at Simons, Sharpe and the wings in matchups like these.. I feel like if they can step up one way or another but especially by making their 3's, thats the path to upsets this year.. Simons looked like he was in midseason form last game; can he keep it rolling?

I feel like Scoota is gonna be pretty consistent and work well with the Ayton/Grant/Williams frontcourt (once williams is healthy). So I'm really just wondering about the wings.

im talking about nurk & ayton specifically

of course, i could be wrong and nurk sucks for phoenix and ayton becomes an all-star, but i doubt it (too many question marks and what are the odds that he changes after 5 years in the league)

And 0 question marks about Nurk, the oft-injures, half-motivated, oft-complaining center who was a question mark on motivation almost every game?

Lol. It's good to know you will never be an objective fan and to completely ignore any opinion of the team you may have.

And of course there is no other correct response than this...

Edit- Did i need green font on that?

Nurkic isn't going to be consistent. He's not going to play like he did against us Thursday every night. Old habits die hard.

We haven't got to see DeAndre in kick ass mode yet. Thursday we didn't really include Ayton in much of the playsets. Mostly, guards chucking threes.

I think it is yet to be seen who won that trade. But, shit Camara and Ayton...I think the Blazers are ahead right now.

Nurkic can't stay healthy and refuses to play beast ball on more than an occasion. Little can't stay healthy, and Johnson isn't that great.

We will see how this pans out.

Oh, they both have motivation issues. Hopefully, DeAndre can find motivation on the Blazers.

These should be our dress rehearsal due to do our last preseason game. This might show somewhat are rotation for the start of the season.

I could see it being that way for the first half but Chauncey still might not know who he and Joe are cutting so I think in the second half we'll see some end of bench players.

Yeah, I think the trade was good for both teams. Playing with a contender could keep Nurk a lot more motivated than he would have been in Portland this year. Finding a trade partner for Nurk before the season started was a win, let alone getting Ayton and Camara.

I will miss Nas though, even if he was easily replaceable....... I just liked the guy.

nurk is the second coming of prime hakeem olajuwon, its just that portland trail blazers never knew or wanted to use him the right way

watch him thrive on a legit contender now and watch ayton putting up empty stats

I agree, if Hakeem came out of retirement from the NBA nowadays and played, he would be as good as Nurk.

This is how I know not to take you seriously as a poster.

I really like Nurk on and off the court. I'll miss him! I hope he gets a ring this season . Ayton is going to be a good fit in Portland. Can't wait to get a sense of him as a person.

Doesn't matter. We got the best we were going to get out of Nurk and he wasn't going to be happy here.

Nobody else was going to give us better value for Nurk, so I like the move.

Unlike Nurk who is going to become, and I quote "Prime Hakeem Olajuwon" because all Nurk needed was a change of scenery to unlock his top-10 all-time talents!

Yes, in his 9th year. Or is it his 10th year now?
