I was looking at the first 25 games:

Golden State Warriors
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans
@ Sacramento Kings
@ Los Angeles Clippers
Oklahoma City Thunder
@ Phoenix Suns
@ New Orleans Pelicans
@ San Antonio Spurs
@ Minnesota Timberwolves
Memphis Grizzlies
Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota Timberwolves
Atlanta Hawks
@ Oklahoma City Thunder
@ Houston Rockets
@ Houston Rockets
@ Memphis Grizzlies
@ Indiana Pacers
Sacramento Kings
Dallas Mavericks
@ Los Angeles Clippers
Utah Jazz
@ Los Angeles Lakers

other than the home game against Atlanta, is tonight's game against the Warriors the 2nd most winnable game of the first 25? Maybe one (or both?) home games against the Pelicans because of their C situation. Blazers will be favorites (I'm assuming) in that home game against Utah (Dec. 6)

but that is a really difficult opening schedule for a team coming off a 21 win season. I can see Portland being 6-19 or 5-20 at the 26 game mark. Maybe I'm way under-estimating them

Yeah, it will be a rough start. 10-11 wins in that stretch would be a victory for this team.

Alternately, one might say 5 or fewer wins would be a victory for this team's future.

Yeah, if they haven't been a fan since the "glory days" of the Oden draft.

In my best Paul Simon voice, "Still jaded, after all these years."

I doubt there's much chance they hit the 10 win mark

by the way, the 10 games after the first 25 games don't get any easier either. Real chance they could be 15-16 games under .500 by Jan. 9. That's less than a month before the trade deadline. I'd imagine, if the Blazers haven't already made any significant trades, the thinking of the F.O. might dramatically change by that point

You know after decades of being a sports fan, I have percolated my thoughts down into one single observation.

One's joy, disappointment, misery, or jubilation in regards to following any team.....in any sport......is a choice.
Handing over the reins of those emotions to the players/coach/owners and their successes or failures, is still
......a choice. I own my feelings about any team I follow. When they win, I bask in the happiness it provides me.
When they lose, I choose the moments or players/coaches that still did well or showed some promise in that game,
and I still bask in the happiness that provides me.

Blazers....Beavers (football)....and Colts. 3 titles in my 6 and a half decades of being alive. If you pine for titles, most will
live a fan experience less than enjoyable. Mine.....is great every year now. Of course, it took till I was 50 to get it.

We’ll be lucky to get 5 wins. For the tankers out there that should be a good start though!

Here's an unretouched photo of SlyPokerDog just before tonights game.........

Hard to under-estimate them after last season. Sharpe and Thybulle are already out. Who's next?

There should be a betting line on that or a Poll here. Who's the next Blazer to be out more than 2 weeks.

But we're still starting an undersized SG, and a PF who plays like a SG. The Blazers certainly have the pieces to put a very long lineup on the court, but will they.

Especially with a coach that started Henderson and Simons last season, and was a PG himself.

Simon’s getting the starting pg spot over Henderson. Hell yea. I can’t stand scoot and don’t see the “generational” point guard bullshit he was hyped up to be. I hope Ant is the clear future point guard for the blazers and we find a decent deal with scoot

So bummed no Shaedon. Any mentions of his ETA??

And now he triples down on it!
Don’t stop now! Keep em coming!

It'll be hard to stomach if both Scoot and Simons start, with either Avdija or Camara on the bench.

It’s been announced already Simon’s is the starting pg next to Toumani at sg.. scoot got demoted as he should!

Post of the Year!

Wow! I'm glad Chauncy did this, and didn't give into the hypothetical pressure to start Scoot.

I think it's better for Scoot that he not have the pressure of playing big minutes.

The game is on League Pass. My DVR will automatically record a three hour message stating the game is blacked out in my area. Does anyone know if a Blazervision subscription on top of a League Pass subscription would allow me to watch (and record) the game?
