Winning basketball games and hurting our chances of winning capture the Flagg.

A lot of fun tonight but looking at the big picture I'm left asking myself what the fuck our team is doing.
The only thing they can do is bench/trade the vets and play all the young guys. I would like to see Rupert get more minutes. Put him on Kyrie for the fun of it. Couldnt a been any worse.

Yeah, we should have already and need to ASAP trade Jerami, Ant and Deandre. We don't get these wins without those guys but we do have competitive games with our young players getting even more reps.

Baking. Fun to watch. Portland is not in the race for Flagg.
If we're not in the race for Cooper Flagg then our management is worse than I think they are... and I already think they're pretty damn terrible.

dumb wins

Grant - 42 minutes/Simons - 40 minutes/Ayton - 36 minutes (Clingan 12 minutes). Those 3 averaged 39 minutes, for fuck sakes. Contributed 57 pts; 28 rebs; 12 ast. Seems kind of like this is the kind of season Cronin and the coaches want. 5 games out of the 10th seed, but hey! only 3 wins from being 11th in the lottery odds, and 4 wins from being 13th. Ride those 3 vets huge minutes for the worst possible outcome....good plan!

Yeah, hard to stomach this kind of mismanagement but I really do like the young core we have developing... they just really really need a superstar type of player out of this draft and we seem to be thumbing our noses at trying to increase our odds of getting that superstar.

That team just beat Phoenix in Phoenix.
without those players.

the incident happened with 9:02 left in the 3rd quarter.

the Mavericks won 98-89.
Is Phoenix good? Who cares who beats them? By by the way, Mavs were 7-1 when Kyrie plays and Luka doesn’t.

There is a sweet spot with Scoot. Trying to prove himself, he presses too much. Playing well, he get's a little cocky. When he discovers the middle ground, he will be fine.
He needs to be the starter and in charge of the team. He won’t have to prove himself. We’d be behind him 100% to go out there and figure it out. Trade Simons now.

Awesome win even though they were playing with a lot of guys out. Ayton was really really good tonight...him and Deni are starting to really build chemistry
Dallas still had 2 sure fire Hall of Famers so they have no excuses.

I disagree. When Ant and Ayton were out, we played our best ball of the season. Trading them doesn’t mean we’ll suck.

Sharpe and Scoot are developing and it’s turning into wins. What are we supposed to do? Bench them?

Hawks competed all last season and won the lottery. Something to think about. You can have the worst record in the league and the odds are still stacked way against you. Let the season play out and see where we’re at the trade deadline.

What exactly is this asst coach doing that Chauncey didn't do?
One thing I noticed in the last 2 games is more situational game time changes. For example, with 0.4 seconds left in the half last game when the Jazz were inbounding the ball, Bjorkgren put in Clingan just to guard the inbound pass. Not a huge impact, but the small things add up.

In Scoot's case - I've noticed that Avdija and Scoot have been bringing the ball up the court more, rather than Simons. I wonder if this is putting Scoot in a position to pass first, rather than try to work off the ball with Simons. If Simons brings the ball up the court when Scoot is in, and Scoot get the ball passed to him with 10 seconds left on the clock, he's probably feeling more pressure to create a tough shot or force a pass that might not be there creating potentially more turnovers.

2 games don't make a huge trend. My question above was an honest question. Perhaps the coach has nothing to do with it, and Scoot just had 2 good games. Whatever it is, I'm hoping the trend continues.

Thanks for the thorough response. I didn't observe any drastic differences. Seemed more like a coincidence.

Sorry, my response was meant as a joke. I didn't watch the last 2 games. My daughters were playing.

All I want for 2025 is for Scoot and Sharpe to make the leap. Build off of the last game, fellas.
You got your wish, very good games buy Scoot/Shae/Deni/Ayton. Sharpe definitely looks to be "emerging" and if Scoot can maintain these last few games then Scoot is far from "busty", his D and steals looked good last night and if he can keep those turnovers down he's solid at least.
