If the Hawks would take Ant, Rob and two FRPs (let's say both of the 2029 picks that we don't owe the Wizards) we could be pretty good right away. Trading Jerami, Scoot and our 2031 FRP along with some seconds for Zion would make us a contender right now if Zion could somehow get and stay healthy.

Trae, Shaedon, Deni, Zion, Ayton, ClingKong, Tou, Tisse and Dalano would be a damn good rotation. If Shaedon pops, Deni gets better, Tou gets better and Tisse can shoot like he did when Dame was commanding as much attention as Trae would... this might be a contender soon.

This wouldn't be a three team trade it's just easier to see it this way. In fact we might need to get a third team involved with the Pels to make it work but I think the value going out is about as good as the value coming in... or maybe I'm delusional but @THE HCP has me reeling with the post I'm replying to.

Ignoring the post from @THE HCP that doesn't even have a blurry picture with Trae.

Could the Lakers still want Jerami to strengthen their lineup? It could be the same trade as before Jerami for Rui, Vincent, Cam and one of the Lakers two tradeable FRPs. They could still turn around and send their other tradeable FRP and @THE HCP friend Christian Wood to the Jazz for Kessler. Rotation of Reaves, Christie, Jerami, LBJ, AD, DFS, Kessler, Vando and Shake is better than what they have right now and could be a real contender. And no Rui is not even close to as good as Jerami. Jerami can get 30 any time and plays just as good of D and that team already has good rebounding with or without Rui. I would want to try and flip Rui along with some second rounders for hopefully a matching contract that isn't as desirable and another FRP.

Yeah Rui's done it 2 times as a Laker and only had done it 2 times before becoming a Laker. Jerami has done it 9 times in the last two seasons. Jerami has had a 44 point game and a 49 point game since joining our team.

Sure Rui can score 30 but he just doesn't score as many points as Jerami. Also it's my opinion that Jerami is going to be a much much better third fiddle player than he has been as the 1a/1b guy since Dame left, the number 2 guy when playing with Dame and the number 1 guy on the Pistons. You give Jerami the opportunities that Rui has had with the motivation that comes with playing on a contender and I think his game starts to look a lot better 0n both ends.
