Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

The more I hear Chauncey share his coaching approach and see the vision starting to unfold, I'm seriously about to be fully on board the Chauncey train. I’m excited to see where he takes things!
They are finally letting him take the family car out around the block

I was thinking about this one about Simons being a good shooter.

I wish Simons and Grant weren’t good dudes. Cause like, I really want em gone at this point.
I don't mind them being good dudes. No matter how scrappy we are right now we aren't winning in the playoffs this post season and both Jerami and Ant can contribute to playoff wins if they're in the correct roles. Also they're being forced into roles they don't fit into on this roster.

Jerami is a 3 and D plus starter who should be allowed to focus on defense by being the fourth or fifth in the pecking order on offense for a team ready to win in the playoffs. I don't know where the fuck he fits anymore but I have zero access to front offices around the league.

Ant is either a microwave off the bench or an offensive weapon starting on a team surrounded by good defenders and at least one guy better than him at initiating offense (Orlando is so obvious).

In the last couple months I had the opportunity to see Jerami Grant a couple of times. Both times I was impressed with how decent of a guy he seemed to be.

You guys must be fun at parties.

"Wow, great band. So many people. I haven't seen Ashley in forever. I can't believe you got this venue."

"Yeah, but the avocado dip ... yuck."

I was just as frustrated because they had mouse in the house on Ant. They involved Ant in just about every pick and roll. They abused him, we got the win but at what expense.

While these wins are nice our two future franchise players have to be questioning their roles. No matter how good Scoot is playing he keeps getting benched and Sharpe has gone from starter to 19 minutes and no role in last 15 minutes of game even when they needed a shooter on the floor they left him on bench.

One more point we aren’t showcasing Ant and Grant every team in the league knows these two players. We are putting them at risk of injuries playing them over 40 minutes a game.

He was awful tonight.
My post was made immediately after he messed up a play for Ant by making 0 contact on a screen, and then completely losing his man at the 3pt line when we were up 3 with 5 seconds left. He decided to help on a two pt shot and gave up a wide open 3. Game went to OT as a result of his blunder.

He certainly redeemed himself but had some shockingly bad plays earlier in this game.

Why are we trying to win games by playing vets a shit ton of minutes? You think we're making the 8th seed?
It's been rumored that Cronin has pressure from Kolde to win now and Billups should always be trying to win now.

The Blazers have won 8 of 9 and are closer to the playin than a good pick. The ship has sailed on tanking this year. Just enjoy the wins.

Boy, I've got to disagree completely with your first point. Ant was covering KD at the top of the key, 22 feet from the basket with KD's back to the basket. Ever try shooting in that situation? It's pretty much impossible. Our mistake was helping Ant there, because he didn't need it. They weren't posting him up. When we threw the double-team, KD just passed and one more pass was an open 3. When we came out of that timeout and said we're just going to let Ant deal with it and let KD run the clock down if he wants to back in and then he has to shoot 16-foot 2s, we won the game.

I swear, I think some people are at this point that they'll blow up any detail to fit their narrative. Not wanting Ant on the Blazers is a valid opinion for a variety of reasons, but this isn't one of them, acting like there aren't defensive challenges and bad matchups on every single team in the league in history.

We literally have people mad that we've won 8/9 games.

Wish i could say i was shocked.

Something's working, so it's bad.

If we lost 8 of 9 and were in the top 3, it'd still be bad.

If we coach Shaedon and raise the bar for him, it's bad. If we just play him despite of whatever he might be doing wrong, it's bad.

If Scoot's progressing, he's not playing enough. If Scoot's not progressing, he's not playing enough.

Welcome to Blazerlandia, where we have clouds for every silver lining. Where Debbie Downer is the mayor.

I've left all sports message boards but this one and rarely post anymore. They used to be about good debate and friendly banter. Now it's just a troll fest and everyone thinks they are the end all be all of General Managers when a lot of them haven't even played at a high level in High School IMO.

Not calling them out, it's the world we live in right now

Blazers have won 27 33 21 games the prior three seasons. They were 13-28 this year prior to the recent win streak.

Makes totally logical sense for many fans to want the team to take actions to win in the long term, when they've sucked so much in recent years.

Ok.

Not saying names, but GOD DAMN there is one poster in here EVERY game thread that makes this place unbearable. Tonight, post after post, just bitching and crying and complaining. Just sit back and enjoy the game and quit crying all thread FUCK ME! And @THE HCP is the one who needs to be blocked because he has such a negative effect/affect on here? Nice win. Props to the coaching staff and players for turning things around.

No. The object is to win championships. Not win games. Some games are meaningless. Some games are not. I didn't forget anything. The objective is still to build a team that can win a title.

And that shit is so fucking weak dude.

YOU made a lame ass post about people being misguided for wanting to trade Simons and Grant. I responded and now you're going to act like this? Troll ass shit.

You sure? It.could be to sell tickets, merchandise, and concessions.

Watching last night's game answered (to me) what we need to add to this core, given the common view that we have 3 strong centers, 2 strong forwards (3 if you count Grant going forward), and 2 high-ceiling guards (3 if you count Ant going forward). We seem to be set at the forward and PG positions that the upcoming draft is loaded with, but we lack an alpha scorer.

The answer? A Devin Booker clone. Someone constantly moving, sticking shots regardless of how many touches, never bogging down the ball movement, and playing plus defense. He would be an amazing fit with this group. To some extent, that's what we hope Sharpe becomes, except that he seems to lack the aggressive mentality part. It's not Ant, because his shooting swings wildly between 10% and 90% to average out around 40%, and that doesn't work as the needed consistent threat.

Obviously, Booker isn't going anywhere. But, Beal is basically Booker-light and he's the most available player in the league. His contract is awful and his health is always a concern, but I could see this group going on a playoff run this year with him added. (And I bet he has a positive view of the roster after the past two games, so his no-trade clause shouldn't be an issue.) Not that I think he's the one we should actually target, but it's worth considering if there's no one else on the horizon who fills that niche.

You were one of the most vocal opponents when I said that Dame was going to ask out and that we should trade Dame.

Guess what? Dame DID ask out and we DID need to trade him.

I didn’t play any high school basketball. Not sure what that has to do with being able to look at a basketball team and see some pretty obvious issues.

You know who probably played high school basketball? That moron who just traded Luka.

Everyone makes mistakes. I'm more shocked how much effort Ayton has been playing with over the last 10 games or so on both ends, so I'm willing to cut him some slack.

In the suns games, this is definitely true.

I still don't want anything to do with him

Posted by Wizenheimer in the "Starting Point Guard" thread:

last night Simons played as many minutes as Scoot and Sharpe combined. In that game:

TS%: Scoot .670...Sharpe .666...Simons .366
net rating: Scoot +15...Sharpe +7...Simons -24.0

as long as Chauncey is coach and Simons is onthe team, we'll continue to see this imbalance. Prepare for it to continue next season too. I made a joke about it in the game thread, but in a way,Simons is blocking both Scoot and Sharpe from starting. That, and of course Sharpe's baddefense moved him to the bench while Ant's evenworse defense kept him starting

That and he played 42 minutes last night. He looked winded to me in the 4th. He is not used to that many minutes. I would sit him tonight on a back-to-back. Play Sharpe 38 minutes tonight as well
