So we wouldn’t even have a 1st in such a loaded draft?

I always get confused with this Chicago pick. What’s the deal with it again?
We make the playoffs Chicago gets it.

We're in the lottery we get it.

If we are still in the lottery in 2028 it becomes seconds.

At this point I'm all for just making the playoffs and sending them the pick. One bonus in that scenario is we guarantee to get the Bucks 2028 swap (we'd lose it if Chicago gets our 2028 pick)

Yep, the draft pick is a bummer, but if they could actually accomplish a run at the playin, that would be something. They have plenty of young guys. Just think of Rayan Rupert as our selection for next year. I think he'll be ready to be a rookie.

And what do you win if you make the playoffs? A first round drubbing by the OKC Thunder

it aint happening.
I doubt it will happen this year either but I didn't see an 11 game run like this happening either. So we'll just wait and see. There isn't anything about this run that isn't sustainable... it's actually all stuff that could become habitual in a good way, so again we'll see if we fall back to the median or if this is our new normal. Obviously it's more likely something in between what we did before this run and what we're doing now.

If we make the playoffs this year or miss it this year and make it next year either way we still get 1 pick.

In other words we guarantee to get our 2026 pick if we send Chicago our pick this year.

So I think fans are way overrating how bad it is to send the pick to Chicago this year

In the long run we only gain a FRP if we miss the playoffs every single one of the next 4 years including the 2028 playoffs.

Also one benefit to sending the picks now is it unlocks all our picks to potentially trade. Right now we can only send two picks. If we extinguish our pick debt to Chicago we could potentially trade away five picks.

It would be good experience just to get a play-in game but the Warriors and Spurs gained the most in terms of personnel at the deadline so I think they'll end up in 9 and 10 with the Suns falling out but who knows???

Hoping Giannis is long gone by then..

Exactly.

Who predicted the AD-less Mavs would beat the Celtics in Boston tonight.

It's easy to forget that Luka controlled the ball on offense (which is great, but he decided) and was not good on defense.

Laugh all you want but I’ll be excited to watch it to see how it plays out. And good experience for the young guys on the roster. Hopefully it will further build that fire to get to the playoffs again & again & fight.

Five FRP could potentially acquire a Kevin Durant player, or Mikal Bridges, or a starting lineup of 5 Luka Doncic's

Well missed this thread because I was at the game - and I once again thoroughly enjoyed watching us win. So fuck it.

Terry Porter proved why he isn't a coach in the league. Dude said something to the extent of, due to the fact that Shaedon has done so well off of the bench it will be hard to put him back in the starting lineup. Fuckin stupid!

I think next years draft is actually deeper imo. I do think Flagg is better then the top players in next years draft but not by much and there are imo 3 players better then Harper or Bailey. It is also a lot deeper with the picks 4-20. So it really wouldn't matter that much. If we were tanking for the top 3 worse records and had a good chance of getting Flagg then it would. The only problem is we are tanking for at least another year. I thought with Flagg or at least Harper or Bailey we would really be playing for a playin or better. It would good to give Chicago the pick this year and we would have all our picks free to trade.
