Ayton isn't ranked as a top100 player by ESPN but is in a max contract. Not saying ESPN's is perfect but it's still a decent gauge. Cronin has somehow brought all these vets together the last 3 years and ALL of them have lost major value.

I don’t think Grant has lost value. We gave up a TPE and a pick. I bet we could easily get that much back.

Nobody wanted Simons when we were shopping him. I don’t think his value is better or worse.

Ayton wasn’t seen to have a ton of value either. Maybe his value is down, maybe not, but he’s a starting caliber center on a soon to be expiring deal. Plus we got Toumani.

He isn’t Dame and he so badly wants to be, but he’s soft. He’s a wall flower. Shaedon is also quiet but at least he goes to the rack like a fucking dude.

Oh I agree that he's not a good #1 option I'm just explaining why he's suddenly not shooting well compared to years past. There's been plenty of times where NBA stars have suddenly had a slump and almost every time it's them adjusting to not sleeping through the night with a newborn. They all adjust eventually.

I don't think we'd get a TPE with a FRP. I think we'll have to take one a contract we don't like and maybe get a guy that has even more limited positive value than Jerami in order to score a first that will convey.

Seems to me these are all things because our roster severely lacks talent, not some thing the head coach is instilling.

Blazers have two huge wins this year and had flashes tonight. The Thunder are favored for the beat record in the league. We haven't beat them since 2019.

Just seems to me that the head coach is getting too much credit and too much blame with these observations and cricisms.

Tough lost. I thought our guys were going to pull off another upset, but the Thunder changed gear in the second half and our guys just couldn't keep up. Very impressed with Rupert. I'd like to see him play more.

I love how it's all Simons and Grant's faults in the 3rd. Simons leaves at the 4:47 mark. We're down 7. Grant leaves at the 3:49 mark, less than a minute later, we're down 10. We finish the quarter down 21.

Great post. This place can get unbearable at times. Three or four posters day in day out 650 times a day posting the same shit with angst screaming at the forum in damn near every thread about how pissed they are that so and so hasn't been traded yet. Like everyone here doesn't know clearly they are, and have been, pissed.

He's like a smaller version of Camara.

Both Camara and Rupert are good defenders who are shooting the 3-pointer very well so far.

Camara is 10/19 , 52.6% on three-pointers.

Rupert is 5/9 , 55.5 % on three-pointers this season.

It's kind of asinine that Billups does not set up more catch-and-shoot 3-pointers for both of them.

And if you're playing good defense and shooting 55% on three-pointers, you should be getting more than 23 minutes for a team that lost by 23 points.

Especially if you're the youngest player on the roster.

Ha! Beat me too it, but totally agree Camara light with better offense.

Ayton was ranked 48th or such last year and similar the year prior but now is outside the top 100. Grant and Ant are about 80/100 rank now but much better years prior.

Second part, true, first part not true. At the moment there's a glut of players out there that teams want to dump (Zach Lavine, Kyle Kuzma) driving down the value of all of them, especially those like Ant and Ayton who are flawed and, like all three, who earn more than most contenders have to offer in trade. That's why Thybulle and Williams are more likely to get traded (if they ever get healthy).

it was all essentially one trade that included Allen going to Phoenix. Cronin could NOT have landed Ayton without Dame's salary as the primary ballast that allowed the Blazers to add back the 68M in salary they did in that trade. Nurk-Little-Keon was only 25M going out. Cronin coveted Ayton; there were rumors about him wanting Ayton for a year or two before the trade

weren't there even some rumors about Cronin talking to Dame about Ayton and that Dame didn't want Portland to add Ayton, especially for Nurkic? If true, Cronin sure solved that problem...and created another it seems
