I would take Kolek if he is there for more shooting and he is a solid defender and let's be honest Scoot has not been the most durable so far so this would be a nice insurance piece too.

I know some are going to say WTF another guard but he is prolly the best player available that might not have a high ceiling but at worst he will be a TJ McConnell type and that could be a nice trade piece in the future. The problem he will be drafted in the first 3 picks or someone will trade up for him ahead of the Blazers I would almost book it cause he is NBA for the most part ready.
Kolek would certainly be BPA at 34.

If two teams have an agreement on a trade that involves the draft, is there any reason it wouldn't already be announced? If a vet is involved, would contract guarantees or anything else affect a teams ability to announce it?

For my money, the Knicks (Villanova North) have won the offseason. Gave away a boat load, but got Bridges. Then got two of my favorite wings in Dadiet and George. The absolute worst part of this will be listening to Stephen A Smith's loud mouth when they win.
This is America! NOBODY has to listen to Stephen A. Smith!

The Knicks are now everybody's second-favorite team. That is definitely a team that will be greater than the sum of its parts. Team spirit off the charts (the diametric opposite of the Melo Knicks).

I said in another thread, a few weeks ago, They love Clingan
well I am glad they got who they wanted now we'll find out how good of a talent judge they are, note I would have made the same pick and I also like the Deni trade

I'm certainly not the biggest Clingan advocate on this board, but, IMO, he was the best pick at 7 and it wasn't particularly close. He has a chance to be very, very good. His floor's high, his ceiling's high ... you can't ask for much more in this crapshoot of a draft.

A lot will depend on how they use him, and what the Blazers do going forward. There's a lot of time before our first game. The roster will look different by the end of the night. I'd suspect, even being under the cap, that there are a trade or two to be made before the opening tip. I'm curious to see how Ayton responds to the drafting of Clingan, if they play them together or if they trade Ayton -- I think the questions about whether or not Ayton is offended by drafting Clingan and if he sulks are valid, but Ayton and the Blazers ultimately will give us the answers.

Anyway, none of this happens in a vacuum. I suspect we're going to add at least one player today that will be a rotation player this season (maybe when we're tanking, but we'll get a good look at them). At the very least, I'm intrigued to see the plan unfold ... hopefully there's a plan.

You better start watching a different team then bro.....those are our 3 best players.
As I said in the post,

Probably not going to be watching very often with that “core”. Not going to find a new team, but no point in watching for me.

Kris Murray was a waste of a pick. I’d rather give his roster spot to someone we draft tomorrow. Throw him in the Grant trade.
I'd honestly explore declining his option and cutting him in camp. Maybe the Kings will take on his salary to pair with his brother.

Murray was a FRP so we don't have an option on him this season. Next season is the first that has a player option on it and the season after that does as well. I think everyone should probably chill on how sure they are that the dude won't be good. He missed tons of wide open threes that he hit in GLeague and college, he played really good D towards the end of the season.

If you look at his college numbers he always seemed to be a year behind expectations. I've had a theory that he has it in his head that it takes him a year to catch up and that severely hindered him last season. We'll see what he looks like this season and yeah if he looks the same or only just a click better than last season then he probably won't be worth his roster spot and we'd probably not pick up his option but the good news is we'll get to wait and see.

We have to make a decision on his next year option before this season starts - thats what I'd decline. Then I'd consider cutting him in camp if its makes more sense to use that roster spot on a different player and just eat the last few months of his contract.

Everyone seems to love the kid. Great rim protector. Good defensive instincts. They played Ayton and Time Lord together, so I expect Ayton and Spock will get time together

In all seriousness, the roster is getting pretty balanced

Ayton
Avdija
Grant
Sharpe
Simons

Thats an actual decent line up. Then bring in guys like

Spock
Time lord
Reath
Walker
Camara
Thybulle
Scoot

I think there still might be some movement, but it’s a decently constructed roster with good defense on the front court. They probably need to add a dead eye wing shooter, but it’s a decent start. We have gotten a lot bigger and more athletic under Cronin and Schmitz

Sorry man, not feeling the Spock moniker--he may have been drafted by the Vulcans, but he's a Klingon. Worf would be completely acceptable, though.

I don't care about anything you say (just a flyby to tell you I love ya), but that Star Trek Doctor Who cross-over needs to happen.

What if Clingan decides to let his hair grow and by the beginning of the year he looks like a Wookie? They nickname him "Chewie."

Squatch would not be happy.

Missed out on AJ Griffin here.
I would have traded #40 for him.
