We need to try and win next year. Losing doesn't work.

Oddly, this is slightly better than I expected.

Now watch the fucking Spurs get #1.

Now we are down to one of these ......... Buzelis Williams, Holland, Knecht

San Antonio took our #4 but at least they didn't get another #1

Once again, I've never heard FROM ANYONE on this board what options they would've chosen other than tank. Ya'll talk shit about Cronin non-stop and have no better ideas.
They would rather get bounced in the play-in with a 33 year old (soon to be 34) point guard whose body is starting to fail due to father time.

I don't see how today's results impact what we should be doing next year one way or the other... other than maybe that we're less likely to get a guy who can contribute right away, which means we should be less willing to try to win now.

There was about a 1 in 6 chance of this happening today, and sometimes you're gonna have the breaks go against you.

I seriously don’t understand the people complaining about tanking. We weren’t good even when we played everyone. Meanwhile the Wolves and Thunder are in the second round after tanking for years. There’s a clear path to climbing out of mediocrity as a small market and it isn’t making the playin.

Don't re-sign Grant. Don't re-sign Thybulle. Get value for Brogdon. Get value for Williams. Take bad contracts on for draft value.

Going half-way into a tank job just isn't smart. That's my criticism of Cronin--not that we should not be tanking.

Good for the Hawks (tho did anyone notice they mentioned that the Hawks never read a #1 or something like that? NOthing like foreshadowing)

No. We had a 7% chance of dropping to 7. That is not 1 in 6.

Yep. And I don't hate it.
Yeah if they do their homework and maybe even work out a deal they might pick up a player or two that can grow with the team.
Guess it’s time to start looking at what it will take to get a good pick next year.

And that shit does not happen very often. Percentages are real. Math is real. Math doesn't give a shit about "karma."
The flattened lottery odds are throwing a very real wrench into this team building strategy.

Yikes! We get pushed back three spots. That surely limits the options we have with that pick. I still wonder if with most teams downplaying this draft if Cronin tries to capitalize on that and either move up from 7 or just acquire another top pick.

They had good picks (including a first and second pick) and good trades to get them there. Blazers don't have that. I don't have much faith in that happening either.
