Cody Williams is going to be a Blazer. Almost every mock draft has Cronin & Billups starting a Colorado revolution in Portland.

It would be nice, but I bet we would need to be in the top 3.....maybe 4 if SA is ahead of us and wants Topic.
The way Memphis is playing it would not surprise me to see them slide into the 5th spot, although the % for 5th and 6th is pretty small. Either way, we will need a bit of luck to move up.

nbadraft.net has the blazers mocked to take Dalton Knecht from Tennessee. There comparison for him is pat Connaughton. For those of you who are more in the know please tell me we can expect better then Patty C with a top 5 pick?

NBAdraft.net is probably the worst source for predicting the draft.

They have Topic going 20th... whereas others like https://www.tankathon.com/mock_draft
has Topic 2nd and Knecht 19th

Rafael Barlowe just said Cody Williams to Portland would be an odd fit because he's best with the ball in his hands.

Barlowe saying that is odd because Williams might be best with the ball in his hands but he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective. He's a very good catch-and-shoot player, he moves well without the basketball so he's available on cuts to the bucket and he can either lead the break or fill the lane. He's not Brandon Roy dribbling down the shot clock because that's by far where he's most comfortable.

Honestly, I sometimes think these guys are so busy trying to fit everyone in little boxes that they overthink and miss the obvious.

Also, you don't pass up talent for fit when you have one of the five worst records in the NBA. Takes like Barlowe's make me smh.

Seriously. Guy is taking 10 shots per game and shooting an unbelievable % and someone's conflating being best with the ball in his hands with being ball dominant.

They compared him to prime Jalen Rose. Sounds like a valuable guy for when Scoot goes to the bench for a breather. If Portland can get one of Sarr (most ideal), Cody, or Risachere with their own pick, they should package all their seconds with the GS pick to get Salaun.

Yeah, that is odd all right....for him to say it. Every team needs a wing who can create for himself, but like you said he also can catch and shoot just fine.

considering the situation, gotta hope Chauncey does a better job of spreading minutes than that OT win against the Rockets a couple of weeks ago:

or that win against Milwaukee:

those wins are like a sugar-rush; momentarily feels good but reality sets in and you've got cavities in your lottery teeth

Serious question here- Miami proved last year in the playoffs that having shooters on The perimeter just standing there launching three-pointers was very effective.
When is an NBA team going to draft one of these amazing women basketball players. There are woman in college right now that are better shooters than many of the nba players. Like Steph Curry good, making them from everywhere. When is an NBA team going to try this, maybe with a late second, and the Portland trailblazers draft …? I think it would be great.

The WNBA uses a smaller ball, could they easily adjust? probably.

But the bottom line is no one is just standing in the corner shooting 3s. They have to play both ends. Look how many great men's college players who could shoot the lights out yet never made it in the NBA for various reasons. Size is one reason and the greatest shooter in women's college hoops Caitlin Clark is only 6' 154 lbs.

Top 5 of this draft is underrated in my opinion. After that is where it becomes pretty weak.

There’s been plenty of years where if you’re in the top 15 you feel like you’re getting a good player.

Excellent! Keep those bad Cody reviews coming. Just in case the Blazers ping pong ball misfires, bad Cody reviews might drop him to 6th or 7th place.

I think I have Matas #4 on my board after Sarr, Risachere/Williams. His size and skill is intriguing. A comp I heard for him was Franz Wagner. I'd love to add someone like that. Salaun is also very intriguing. I'd love to get 2 out of that 5.

He is one of the guys I put in the high-risk high reward category. Right now his body needs to fill out. But he has the skills and size for an SF. He won't be ready his rookie year so I think we might be drafting for the future if we can't get in the top 3-4.

He'll be a PF on the NBA level. I'd be surprised if he falls out of the lotto.

apparently teams are lower on Salaun than is being discussed.
