Some nice role playing out there

Think my favorite play was the one where the fed DC in the post on the mismatch, and he could easily have backed down or spin-moved toward the hoop, but instead he looked around, saw Deni on the opposite wing, and flung it across to him for a wide-open 3. Just pure intentional selflessness.Yeah the passing was great tonight. You hit the nail on the head by saying that this team is at its best when the ball isn't sticking.
Back-to-back games where he led the team in +/- (despite going 0-4 on threes this game). Pure glue guy: smart and completely selfless.Ok. I guess I'll take the role of Murray support. There are far more knowledgeable fans here who know way more than I about this game. It surprises me how little run Kris gets. It's like when I am watching an NFL game and fans judge TE validity based on catches and yards, as if that is the only thing they do. Murray is one of the hardest defending guys on this team. What was his +/- last night...25+? I watch so many plays where other teammates get their gun because of his positioning at the offensive end.
Cronin cred? It's funny: their scrubs are all first-rounders, and a couple of 'em lottery picks, whereas our scrubs are all undrafted or low second-round (except Yang) and our scrubs kicked their scrubs' asses.
Very few on here probably remember a guy named Billy Ray Bates, same type of athleteShaedon probably plays the most entertaining brand of basketbal lthat we've ever had on the team. My reference point is Clyde's third season on. Clyde was really fun too. A sneaky addition to that list was JR Rider.
Obviously nothing beats Dame's buzzer beaters but play in and play out I can't think of anyone as fun to watch as Shaedon,
More like Ainge dis-credCronin cred?
Kind of makes you wonder if Tiago is part of the reason for our success. I remember watching Spurs teams always had guys come out of no where to help them win. Think Pop did an amazing job of letting players play to their strength. Players like Love who is a scorer has been given green light and his confidence has sky rocketed same for Sidy who isn’t a scorer but is given green light to shoot when open. It's funny: their scrubs are all first-rounders, and a couple of 'em lottery picks, whereas our scrubs are all undrafted or low second-round (except Yang) and our scrubs kicked their scrubs' asses.

I quoted both of you for subject matter.I love Thiago's quiet confidence. The guy commands respect because he's respectful if that makes sense.
Another Kris Murray supporter here and after being down on him most of the year, it's been awesome to see the 180 he's taken.Ok. I guess I'll take the role of Murray support. There are half a dozen Beatles song alone that could be his anthem.Gotta love how Love doesn't hesitate.
Solid. 100% agree.I quoted both of you for subject matter.
It seems to me that when choosing why this injury riddled team is doing better than likely anyone expected, there are only so many choices.
Cronin
Billups (a painful yet necessary inclusion)
Splitter
..or some combo of both.
To me, the choice of "None of them", would indicate severe bias.
My opinion is that given the situation into which every one of these people above stepped into, the direction is going quite well. In some areas, outstanding. When trying to align the dislike/disrespect/doubt that all of these figures have received both here and in the media at large...it does not align with.....
Sweeping the Warriors so far (including a 20pt win and a cup win)
Sweeping the Jazz so far (including a 20pt win)
Beating the Nuggets (in the cup)
Beating the Thunder (had not lost)
Beating the Heat (on the road)
Beating the Bucks (on the road)
Beating the Cavs (on the road)
Beating the Spurs (on the road)
Beating the Kings (in a home and home)
Beating the Celtics
Eleven different players have combined to miss a total of around 180 games this season, with several key starters out for extended periods. Injuries have indeed played a part in why these accomplishments are noteworthy.
Not trying to adjudicate behavior.....rather, trying to offer perspective.
The skinny straw that stirs the drink!Back-to-back games where he led the team in +/- (despite going 0-4 on threes this game). Pure glue guy: smart and completely selfless.
If he ends up like a Robert Horry type/level guy that would be the dream. He’s won us a couple games this season already.Another Kris Murray supporter here and after being down on him most of the year, it's been awesome to see the 180 he's taken.
Really has turned it on defensively...been a terror the last month or so and has looked like clearly the best player on that end.....
The balance on drives has looked better in terms driving to score some and not to always kick out. Aaaaaanddd I'm not going to get my my hopes up too high, but the free throw and three point stroke look a bit more fluid.
They have all significantly improved. From Clingan to Sidy, from Love to Deni. Tiago definitely deserves credit.Kind of makes you wonder if Tiago is part of the reason for our success. I'd love to have a beer (or two) with the guy. He seems like he'd be interesting to hang with....I love Thiago's quiet confidence. The guy commands respect because he's respectful if that makes sense.
He's also the 3rd youngest player on the roster after Yang and Rupert. One thing I liked seeing in the last minute of the game as the Blazers were headed back on Defense, Sidy was directing everyone and getting them into the correct position. Showed a lot of leadership for a guy on a 2way, plus he took two charges.
I bet there are many that remember him. I had a friend in high school who couldn't stop talking about Billy Ray Bates (and Chocolate Thunder), so it's more like experiencing Billy Ray Bates second-hand than remembering him.Very few on here probably remember a guy named Billy Ray Bates, same type of athlete
Anyone who was watching the Blazers in the 80’s knows Billy Ray Bates.I bet there are many that remember him. I had a friend in high school who couldn't stop talking about Billy Ray Bates (and Chocolate Thunder), so it's more like experiencing Billy Ray Bates second-hand than remembering him.
