Game Thread 2025-26 GAME #47 - BLAZERS @ CELTICS - JANUARY 26, 2026 - MONDAY - 5:00 PM - PEACOCK (2 Viewers)

I would have started with Caleb Love in the 2nd half with Sharpe and Holiday. There isn't enough shot creation without him.

Brown is just hunting Sharpe on the switch and the Blazers keep doubling

This play by play guy is pretty funny/weird for a national broadcast. The way Grant Hill does color commentary makes me think he has studied Clyde Frazier's style and why not, that dude knows how to do it.

Good picture announcing so so. Have talked about blazers being second hottest team and missing Demi
I think the picture is just ok. Of course I get peacock with adds though XFinity. I’m not sure if that makes a difference or not in pictures quality?

Still scrapping. We have to cut further into this lead before the end of this third quarter.

I was pissed when the play by play guy just said somewhere former Celtic Rasheed Wallace... like WTF he played a lot more for us than the fucking Celtics.

That last little stretch from Shaedon before he went to the bench was better than the rest of the game.

This Celtics team doesn't really have a lot of rim protection so Shaedon should be getting down hill a lot more.

At this pace since the end of the first quarter... we'll lose by 5 points.

Better show more than we have in any other quarter.

Nice job getting ZERO points again on another stupid "Two-for-one". which should be called "two-for-zero points" for the Blazers.

Especially on an out of bounds play, a player should never ask for a review unless he is absolutely sure,

The clock never stopped after Toumani dunked it

That wasn't a very fun game to watch. Nice to see the guys fight to try and make it competitive after sleep walking through the first quarter but we could have won that game if we just would have shown a little bit of poise in that awful first quarter.

Shaedon Sharpe wasn't any better.
Yeah Shaedon didn't impose his will on the game on offense at any point tonight. We should have seen a lot more drives from him. His defense wasn't worse than usual, at least not after the first quarter.

He gave some effort but on a night where we don't have Deni, Shaedon just has to put pressure on the opposing team's defense by getting downhill a helluva lot more than we saw tonight.

Wonder if some of the guys are starting to hit a wall. Playing more games and minutes then they have ever played. Just seem like they have been flat.

What do you all see in Sidy? He stinks. I don't get it. Total replacement level guy. He has youth on his side, I guess.

Yeah, he's 21, he is a really solid defender who will only get better on that end, he's a plus athlete by NBA standards and his shot isn't busted... it needs work but if he works on it he can be a legit 3 and D wing.

Also if we make room for him on the roster we can have him for the rookie minimum for the next three seasons.

He has not looked good for a few games. And seems like he is always wanting to blame somebody, not sure who?
huh?

tonight he had 9 pts, 15 rebs, & 5 blks

last game he had 13 & 16 with 2 assists, 3 steals and no turnovers

last week, in the back-2-back he had 37 points, 28 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 turnovers

if you're keeping track, over the last 5 games he has averaged 13 points & 13 rebounds

he's been doing some great work for a 21 year C in the NBA. His shooting percentages aren't as good as they should be, but that's because the coaches won't make him stop chucking three's. In the last 10 games, Clingan is 8-37 on three's. First thing is that's 21.6%; second thing is that's 3.7 heaves a game. Third thing is that shooting 21.6% while chucking nearly 4 three's a game is terrible shot selection, especially considering that's taking the best offensive rebounder in the NBA 23 feet from the rim. That's bad coaching

Clingan has tossed up 37 three's in the last 10 games; Rudy Gobert as shot a grand total of 18 three's in 13 years and he's a 3-time all-star, a 4-time all-NBA, a 7-time all-NBA-1st-defender, and a 4-time DPOY. Clingan doesn't need to be chucking three's to have impact

I get that Clingan doesn't have a pretty or artful style. But his 'awkward' game has a big impact on Portland playing well. Clingan has missed 4 games this season and the Blazers lost all 4, and lost by an average of 14 points

Which in my humble opinion is pretty good for a 2nd year center.

He's not taking threes unless he's wide open or the offense has completely stalled. Yell at the people trying to run the offense if he's chucking 4 attempts a game.

It says a lot about Clingan that you need to limit the sample to 10 to make him look bad. What about the 10 games before that?
