On to the next one. Think I'll finish cutting in that door in the upstairs creepy corner room. Hanging a door in a non square, non level 1991 frame, is a mind bender. I filled the old too small hinge pockets, and currently chiseling out for current size hinges.

My reward for getting the door hung and everything square? Refitting the handle mech into a new spot. Wheeeeeeeee!!!

Lamelo probably didn’t even sleep last night and was fine.

I had to look it up…

Game 2 was 6/10/94. Bronco chase was game 5 6/17/94

Good call on the series though.
Got it. I do remember them cutting to it during a Finals game. I think Game 3 was day of murder. Cassel, as a rookie, hit the winner.

We would have taken Miller if we had gotten the #2 that draft. I do not think Henderson would have went #3 depending on the team that would have drafted there. He had more hype but either of the Thompson twins could have went there IMO.

Not ready to give up on Scoot since he is still young but am certainly not counting on him. Not much improvement on his game and this is his fourth year.
It’s his 3rd year (drafted in 2023) and he missed most of it so he’s really only played 2 seasons up til now.

Oh well. Luckily I was watching Star Trek with my girlfriend and forgot about the game entirely. Wild that we are not a good team without our two top scorers, one of whom was our primary playmaker and the guy we based our entire offense around. Who would have though that could happen, right?

Obviously Deni and Shae being out makes us much worse. That being said there really isn't an excuse for how sloppy and disjointed our players looked on both ends.

I've said it all season but it's not about the wins and losses it's about the development on the team. To me, with the exception of Kris over the last two games, none of the guys that are currently healthy seem to be getting better and after almost 3/4 of the season we don't see a lot of cohesion.

So we're where we probably should be as far as wins and losses go but in the area that actually matters (player development and team growth) we're not looking very good.

Okay, so we’re not better, except for winning games, the only official measure of team growth recognized by the league. Got it.

Including Dame, that’s our top three offensive weapons in street clothes.

Scoot picked a bad time to play like he did on his rookie year.

Starting to wonder if that stretch last year was an anomaly.
Bruh why do people do this after every time a player starts playing again after missing so much time? Mind numbing.

19-8 deficit in offensive rebounds, and 25% shooting from 3. These things are fixable. I'm disappointed, but not discouraged
just about all things are 'fixable'. Portland's issue is that they fix one thing at the same time they break something else. They then repair that last thing but what they previously fixed gets broken again. It's Blazer version of whack-a-mole

The question is: is this fixable with some time (including until next season for injuries), or do we need new players, or more impactfully, a new system?

So they are 3000 miles away playing a morning game and they come out sluggish and play uninspired and now everyone is ripping the players and coach.
That's a game thread for ya.
distance from Chicago to Portland = 2100 miles. Chicago wins at Moda by 1
distance from San Antonio to Portland = 2100 miles. San Antonio wins at Moda by 13
distance from Detroit to Portland = 2400 miles. Detroit wins at Moda by 8
distance from NY to Portland = 2100 miles. NY wins at Moda by 9
distance from Toronto to Portland = 2600 miles. Toronto wins at Moda by 12
distance from Cleveland to Portland = 2400 miles. Cleveland wins at Moda by 19

I don't think distance had anything to do with it.

both teams were playing at 1pm local time and the Blazers arrived in Chicago Wednesday. Usually takes a body clock about one day per one hour of time difference to adjust

I think this was just more typical about life on the road for a mediocre team

Because he's shooting like 25% from 3, and it's not like he hasn't had time to work on that part of his game. bruh

Vit is the only Blazer other teams smother at the three point line. Have the Blazers ever once ever ran a play to set a screen for Vit to get a shot off? Towards the end of the game when random Blazers were throwing up desperation threes, Vit was moving and sharing the ball, and never getting it back, and I was thinking that if I were the coach I'd try to set him up five possessions in a row and see how he does when he gets a rhythm and some semi-open looks. Does the team even do that for anyone? I'll take Chauncey's offense over five chickens running around with their heads cut off.

I know, I know. But will he ever become even an average shooter?
I think Scoot will, but Murray definitely will not. You can't win in today's NBA if you can't make threes.

I'm hoping Vit starts hitting 3's, as he's not doing it that well yet.

Funny that they list him as a PG here, yet I don't think he's handled the point duties much if at all.

He will be a star. Just wait. Three years isnt enough time to judge a player.

The next gen of stars dont need to shoot well.

Pretty good point. Certainly mediocre at best and I would think pretty much every NBA player has a weird jet lag going non stop throughout the season.

Vit is the only Blazers player, outside perhaps Grant, that other teams respect from three. As a result, he is constantly smothered and almost never has a clean look. He doesn't get consistent shots when he's in, so, unlike Love who launches a shot seemingly every possession, he never gets a chance to heat up. If we had other consistent shooters, he'd get more looks. Or, and I know this is crazy, since he's the best shooter on the team maybe run some plays to get him some shots?
