Jrue finnnnng Holiday, damn earned his paycheck tonight. Team came to play last night
Holiday having a way more productive season than his last two in Boston.

I'm wondering if we might be able to flip him for a late pick in the summer or something? Gain some financial flexibility and clear more of a role for Dame next season. I just don't see how the Dame/Jrue/Scoot trio would make sense. Dame obviously isn't leaving and no way you want to just go with only 36 year olds.

Might be an opportunity to sell high on Jrue - wish we'd done that with Grant after the first year of his contract when he actually played very well.

Scoot I'm not sure is the answer but unless we get a better option in his 20's he just makes more sense to pair with Dame.

The only thing I'm thinking about is that our players and coaches better not be looking past the Pels or we might see them start a losing streak. Get that win and then win one out of the next three and finish with a win against the Kings and I'll be very happy.

Yeah, they will be rested too. Odd for a team at this point in the season to have 3 nights off in a row.

As this game started at 11 PM my time, I didn't watch it. Looks like Clingan had a rough game - what gives?

I wasn't expecting as thorough a domination as we got last night.

Kawhai is such a tough matchup for the Blazers, but they mitigated his impact and had the Clippers fighting uphill. The defensive job on Garland was key and pretty much flawlessly implemented ... that was the difference.

I still have my doubts this team makes it past the play-in, and it seems like everytime we seem to have gotten it together there's an inexplicable loss in the next game or two that evens it out. But that was pretty impressive.

Deni and Jrue really came to play and the Clippers had no answers.

I know he doesn't get a lot of attention because he doesn't play a ton of minutes, but Matisse is a difference-maker on this team. He's been stacking good performances one on each other the last couple of weeks. It's not just his defense, but me makes open shots and even has been driving to the hoop. He's not careless with the basketball. I hope they can find a way to hold onto him and Timelord this offseason, because they really add an edge to this team off the bench that's going to be hard to replace.

Agree on Matisse. I love his game, but then he gets hurt, which causes me to think we will not resign him, then he comes back and plays well, and I want to keep him. But how much do we offer him?

I will be ok with 6-8M per year for him. Maybe a 3 year contract in the 20-24M range. I can also see other teams will be happy to offer him that, so depends if he wants to stay with us or not.

I never got the Murray hate. I love his game and you need a guy who doesn't need to score to impact a game. Murray gets you the ball.

Yeah, I think he is pretty solid. He has had a few games where he made some mental mistakes, but overall, I think he is a pretty smart player who, like most, plays better with more minutes. Good defender, shitty 3pt shooter. Needs to fix that over the summer so that he is at least adequate at it.

I think he has upside still but that contract is going to be hard to get done before we risk him walking in free agency.

I could definitely see us moving him this off season.

Edit: If we can get that contract reworked and a long term extension negotiated then I'd love for him to stay but he probably has a lot of value, especially to a team with the cap flexibility to work that extension with him.
Your edit is the key. I just rewatched last nights game. Im back on the Deniwagon. 😂
Let’s find a way to keep him without strapping ourselves. He is due a payday, but he is a different mold i think. He wants to win too, im sure. I bet he would take less, though still a nice extension if he know we would put the balance into assets for us to win.

I always liked Matisse. My only reservation with him is whether he can stay healthy for any length of time.

I like Murray's game but 28 percent (or whatever it is) three point shooting from his position is not going to cut it. And it seems like most of those are corner threes FFS. And the system demands he shoot them.

I don't think the Clippers expected the buzz saw than ran through them last night. I also have a hunch that when the Blazers play like that, there's nothing they can do to stop it.

Deni has been shooting 31% before the Clippers game and missing free throws...Kris makes his free throws .Scoot was at 22% for a month after he came back until just recently as he's starting making them. We're not a 3 pt shooting team pretty much across the board. Streaky at best. Chris does shit that don't show on the stat sheet especially on defense. He's not a shooter but he's improved his shooting especially free throws. I'm not a big stat guy but Kris isn't as streaky as players who get more minutes than he does. Sidy is a streaky shooter.

It's also the times he gets within 5 feet of the basket and then doesn't even look at the hoop, and the occasional lapses in concentration that lead to him losing a routine pass. But we've seen a lot more good than bad out of him since he returned from injury.

100% agree. If I project from what I know of his background - Money is important, but building a winning contending team is the real goal for a guy like him. I don't think he cares if he gets 20 Mil or 80Mil per season - he wants to be a part of a legacy and an NBA champion. Once he got his rookie contract he is already set for life in his mind (while also taking care for family). His fuel is not money, It is to achieve sport greatness.
