Yeah Duke definitely choked but that bullshit loose ball foul against Flagg sure hurt Duke but they were already committing self inflicted harm. That's got to leave a bunch of those Blue Devil players feeling empty.

Duke couldn’t buy a bucket for a huge chunk down the stretch.

a bunch of freshman vs a bunch of seniors who’ve played in numerous tourney games.
 
Yeah that call on Coop was rough. Sion spacing out and not fouling Sharp in the corner really affected the last look...would have given them 6 seconds or so...Coop made a couple mental mistakes on defense late....

Random note but I'm surprised how little they used Kon and Coop together in screening actions. The spammed it early in the year and I don't think I saw it once this game.

Yeah Duke deserved to lose but there is no fucking excuse for calling that lose ball foul in that situation, especially since the foul was so suspect. Calls like that ruin the integrity of the game. And it cost me from winning my bracket.

I wonder if choking like that influences Flagg from entering the draft. I bet it makes him think twice.
 
Vegas odds are already in favor of him returning to Duke.

And it is reported he could make up to $20M for coming back next year between NIL and sponsorships.

I seriously doubt it. If Flagg is the competitor that he's shown, I think he'll take on whatever challenge is next for him. I expect him to be in the draft.

There is that option though. Players can withdraw until June 15th and the lotto is on May 12th.
 
Don’t know enough about Flagg to know whether or not he’s the kind of player to care who he gets drafted by VS going #1.

I figure his agent will suggest that he declares. He’s fairly unanimous this year, but idk what the pay difference between lottery places is. Risks injury playing another season in college. Just makes sense to declare and do what you can to improve a situation you may not want to be in.

FWIW I’ve always thought it was low class when you see players upset about who drafts them, like Zach Lavine with the T-Wolves. There are thousands of young men who would love to be on any NBA team. IMO players should be humble and just be glad to be in the situation that they are in.
 
Flagg pushed the arm of the player on his right as he was going for the ball. One of the oldest tricks in the book.

It's a character flaw for a teenager to be so ungrateful that you refuse to be set for life financially just because you don't wanna play in Portland (for example). The attitude should be, I will be proud to help turn any franchise from losers to winners.
