Event 2025 NBA DRAFT LOTTERY, COMBINE, AND DRAFT

I'm an Ace Bailey fan. I think a dude that has a shot like that, size and length like that and his kind of motor is as close to you get to a sure fire all star. This guy works hard, has a great handle for a guy that's 6'10", he works for boards, he reads passing lanes. I'm just a big fan of all the things this guy can do... I don't think I'd take him over Flagg but it's not a simple decision for me because Flaggs shooting just isn't close to what Bailey's is and I realize Bailey's post defense isn't where Flaggs is and both have really great perimeter D.

It really bugs me that we aren't already tanking harder when we can see what the potential reward would be. Worried about the trade deadline and what we might not do. Still excited for the lotto and the draft because while that top tier of talent is spectacular the next couple of tiers are really impressive too.

not only are we not tanking we are also sitting the two guys who are supposed to be our franchise players! By now you shouldn’t have to showcase Grant or Ant, teams know what they are getting with both of these players.

Are we really sitting them?

Grant 32 Minutes
Ant 32 minutes
Camara 31 minutes
Sharpe 31 minutes

Scoot is too low at 27 minutes, but not by much.

I think, to a degree, it is less the minutes and more who is playing. Ant/Grant/Ayton all think they should be alpha vets and I think that impacts how Scoot/Shae develop.

It probably shouldn’t but with lackluster coaching, it sure seems that way to me.

Bench/trade the vets and lets the youngsters play. We lose more games (bonus) and our youngsters develop (or not) and we fully embrace the out-with-the-old rebuild; not this half-way-cockamamie brouhaha we have going on now.

I think that is very debatable. It may vary from game to game. Look at the last game, for example, Simons shot it 10 times in 35 minutes, Grant 5 times in 29 minutes, and Ayton did not play. I watch every game, and from what I can see the youngsters are getting their opportunities to develop. Although tonight might be different since it is our nationally televised game.

I do wonder how many of the posters are watching the game vs looking at the box score. I say that because an earlier poll suggested that many don't watch. To be clear I am not suggesting that you are one of those.

Thanks. That explains why I couldn't find it in a mock draft. Under the conditions right now it would not got to either Portland or Atlanta.
Hawks are tied for 10th worst right now and just lost Jalen Johnson who is their second best player, for the season. Blazers might actually have a second, and a pretty good one at that. It’s the little things…

Kanon Catchings (nephew of WNBA player Tamika Catchings) is very intriguing. Looked like a two and done early, but starting to get comfortable.

A very fluid mover at 6'9". Over 2% steal and block rates and just bombs threes (13.4 per 100 poss.) and they are starting to fall.

Yeah, that was impressive. The 3s and the lobs looked great, but what impressed me was his jump hook. Really hard to stop that with his length.
Just watched their game from earlier against Columbia. Not sure what he finished with, but god damn he looked good. A KD clone.

I really want a late first rounder so we can snag Alex Karaban. Shooting, size, competitiveness. Was a teammate of Clingan.

I think of him as the grandson of Harvey Catchings ....

Again, the thing that stands out to me about Bailey is he creates his own shots better than anyone, and he makes very difficult shots look easy. He's open even when he's well-defended, and he's a player who will win you games just because there are going to be nights when he is on and he's undefendable. The thing with him is can he be more consistent.

Flagg really is a nice looking player. I mean he pretty much checks all the boxes. I’ve tuned into maybe a half dozen of his games and every time I’ve understood why he’s as hyped as he is.

Ace Bailey not so much.

Dylan Harper looked like himself again vs Illinois.

Ace has been very hot and cold for sure, but I think he's come a long way in conference play and is learning how to be a positive player even in the games where he doesn't shoot it well. Has some rare traits for his size that could make him a plus starter on both ends plus some tail end upside with his shot making prowess at 6'10". Think he's an easy choice in the top 3 in this draft.

All that said, Flagg is still like 3 tiers ahead of Ace as a prospect.

Here is the the group Coop is in for NCAA freshman since 2008 from a production + impact standpoint

https://www.barttorvik.com/playerst...Fr&year=all&start=-11101&end=all0501&minppg=4

Zion
Beasley
Love
AD
Flagg
Harden
Mobley
Holmgren

Current MVP rankings and the pick each was taken at:
Jokic (41)
SGA (11)
Giannis (15)

...so there's hope even if we're outside the top 5.

There are some potential stars in the second round.

If he's there in the second round when we pick i would love to take a chance with Adou Theiro from Arkansas. Grown 5 inches from his Senior year to now.
High rising bucket getter that rebounds and can defend any position on the court.

POR wont pick anywhere near the top 5. Frustrating. I try not to think about it. Flagg Harper Ace is OVER.

Am I debbie downer today? We might not have a second round pick either....

We'll likely have Atlanta's. They suck
Would it be worth moving down from 10 to 11 in the lotto to secure pick 40? I realize we're trying to win so we're going to try to have a better record than any team near us including the Hawks but I think moving down one spot both in for our actual FRP and lotto odds is probably worth it to pick up the 40th pick in this draft.

I can't speak to your Fandom bruh. Only you can do that.

But i have a feeling we have some picks this Summer. It's a good draft and we hopefully make some kind of moves

good god it hurts that OKC currently has better odds to land a top 3 pick than POR does. I just dont get the org's thinking or plan going forward. CHI is now full on tank mode. help me obi wan.

Have lowered on Kasparas over the last couple weeks overall and for the Blazers. I think I overrated his role malleability when I posted about him earlier too...the numbers don't look good off the catch from 3. Will turn down open looks and overall the process looks a lot less comfortable for him vs when he's pulling up or getting to his step backs. Just much more of a heavy ball in hand player as I watched more...also don't like adding another high turnover, foul prone guard either.

Size is underwhelming if you want to play him at the 2 despite the listed height...limited length, only an 8'3.5" standing reach. And he is also most useful guarding on the ball, where size on 1's can be disruptive and I like his screen navigation too, but lower on his ability to guard up vs bigger players.

All this to say, I still like him a good bit. He's just likely outside the top 5 for me and don't love his fit with Scoot as I thought on first blush.
