Event 2025 NBA DRAFT LOTTERY, COMBINE, AND DRAFT

The NBA isn’t about big markets, with the exception of the Lakers because they have by far the highest viewership of any team. The NBA is about superstars. They have been this way since MJ. They understand that stars bring eyeballs. Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, etc. the Spurs had Tim Duncan. The Thunder have SGA. The Warriors have Curry. The Nuggets have Jokic. Etc etc etc. bucks have Giannis.

If they can get a superstar to LA then the NBA is thrilled.
Ok so now the conspiracy is that the NBA wants superstars to go to a team where they become a superstar?

And the NBA rigs the draft so superstars go to a wide variety of teams from San Antonio to Oklahoma city to Denver to Milwaukee.

Some of them get picked in the 2nd round during a Taco Bell ad... But this is the conspiracy to do something too.

Ohh and the NBA trades SGA from LA to Oklahoma City as well because they need a superstar in cow country.

The conspiracy just makes so much sense!

So it would be in the best interest of the NBA to put good players around those stars, regardless of what city they’re in? What good is Wemby if his team sucks?
Well shit. They must've missed the memo on Dame.

Chicago just won those 6 titles because the Blazers gifted the Bulls Jordan.

Or was that part of the conspiracy? NBA for the Blazers to take Bowie so big market Chicago with 0 titles could get rings on both hands.

It's all fixed!
You mean back in the 80s before anyone knew Jordan would be a global superstar and he changed the face of sports branding and how the league treats its stars? Is that what you’re saying?

So the NBA saw we had ROY and gifted us the Oden pick so we'd have two stars together? Yes the conspiracy makes more sense every minute!

Yeah, you just prove your conspiracies with previously unproven or even debunked conspiracy theories. Works every time...

...because you can say whatever bullshit you want no matter how out of pocket and just act like someone is naive if they ask for proof.

Right - it's the only big market besides the Lakers to have a handful of rings. Yeah obviously it was part of the conspiracy the NBA has been running for decades.

I literally forgot it was lotto day. Sounds like we went the way it was pretty obvious it was going to for the Blazers. Good thing is there are some really good players at the 11 spot. Hopefully the Blazers go after a solid player that is a bit older or maybe even from Europe.
Then maybe they can sign a decent player through free agency and start to create a winner again.

Go Blazers!

I haven’t said anyone is naive. Other people are attacking me for my opinion, calling me a Trumper and a flat earther. I don’t know why it pisses you guys off so much that I think it’s possible that the league rigged it. It’s an opinion. So yeah I told some people to go fuck themselves for calling me a trumper. But I haven’t said anyone is naive.

Honestly was a little bit happy we didn't fall to 12th or worse!

Nuggets Bucks Raptors won titles last few years.

Yeah Warriors have won 4.... But they had 40 years of irrelevant sucking before that. Knicks had multiple decades without winning anything.

Meanwhile the Spurs won 5 titles and Pistons 3. West looks like it'll be dominated by OKC and the Spurs the next decade.

Markets certainly have an advantage - but it was more historically with extra revenue and free agency destinations. NBA has made rules changes to basically take away those advantages. Teams don't sign max free agents nowadays.

Will be interested how the conspiracy evolves.
No evolution required. The top half media markets have completely dominated the small markets in terms of championships. I posted the data 2 or 3 years ago. Small markets are fairing much better under the current "market balance" commish, which is nice.

Minnesota with no real household names beat Lakers with perhaps most recognizable name and enormous market.

Top 6? They don't want to trade picks with us either.

Just saying the teams with the 11th and 8th best odds got the top two picks. Why tank? We need to develop players and get better. That's the only chance we have. Losing games on purpose isn't going to get us anywhere.

Because it increases our floor.

You can't predict that a team with that low of a shot of getting the #1 pick gets it.

The more raffle tickets you buy gets you a higher probability of winning it all. Can someone that buys 1 raffle ticket win? Yes. But the probabilities are lower.

And what's that get us? Scoot level players?
