OK, I've calmed down a bit and here is my best case defense.
1. They had a guy they really wanted at 11. He was a shock early pick (Demin is the obvious candidate.)
2. If they liked Demin then they never really saw the draft as a way to get immediate contributors (because the chances of Demin helping any team win for a couple of years are low)
3. That means they see the draft as a place to take wild swings on high upside guys. And they see Yang as that, even if he plays at the position we have LEAST FUCKING NEED AT. (Sorry, it got away from me a bit there. I'm better now.)
4. That's it. That's the best I can do. Meanwhile Memphis saw Coward as that guy. Let's hope they're wrong.

Gotta say, though, I kind of hope the guy they wanted was CMB rather than Demin, because I see CMB as much more likely to be a good player than Demin. In fact, I think CMB could be a star.
