....no, it is not too soon. I'm already watching Bailey, Harper and Flagg highlights or games when I can catch them. I've said it before, this team is in definite need of a 'The Guy' type of personality.

Scoot, Sharpe, Clingon, Tou, Ant....none of those guys fit that mold. I'm not sure who that is in next years Draft, but they need to find him. I don't see much of a leader type on this roster yet. There is some talent that you hope will grow and gel, but not seeing that alpha dog mentality that every winning team needs.

https://nbadraftroom.com/2025-nba-mock-draft/ .....has:
1. Cooper Flagg - 6'9" PF - seems like that, would smack down his grandma to get a win type.
2. Air 'Ace' Bailey - 6'9" SF - one of the most elite bucket getters at an early stage I've every seen.
3. Dylan Harper - 6'5" SG - incredible bball IQ. Reminds me of a little bit bigger, stronger Jalen Brunson.

There is not a player currently projected to go in the first round that is under 6'4" until pick number 24. That seems unheard of. Great size coming out of this coming year.

Sharpe is the man

Scenario: Blazers end up with the #3 pick, according to most mocks, the top players after Ace and Flagg are PGs.

Do they reach for someone, or draft a replacement for Scoot?

No reach. Harper, Edgecombe, and Traore would all be viable options at 3. Traore is the only one that would be a "replacement for Scoot", and if he's the best option, you absolutely take him. If Scoot hasn't shown himself by this summer not to be another Markelle Fultz or Killian Hayes, then he doesn't factor into the decision-making process at all.

Edgecombe is the only one to have played against senior national teams (and to look like the best player on a team with Ayton and Buddy Hield) (OK, so Flagg did play that unofficial game against the US National team, yes, but not any official ones.)

I've looked around for a true barefoot measurement for Avdija but struck out. Since you're relaying his height as fact, apparently you've found a link. Please relay it... thank you!

fwiw (nothing) my eyes tell me he's more in the 6'7 range

Marang, who works with the team, has repeatedly said Deni is 6-9.

It's the team's job to justify overpaying 2 #1s plus Brogdon. He looks 6-7, now that heights are barefoot.

I expect him to be an A+ connective piece. I think he's closer to 6-9 in shoes. I believe that's what Danny was alluding to.

By that time we'll have seen enough of Scoot that it won't be a hard decision (either way).

Looks like Scoot’s highlight dunk for the Ignite. Not saying they’re similar, but I feel like a lot of people fell in love with a handful of Scoot dunks and then went on to throw out lavish praise and expectations that he hasn’t lived up to remotely.

I asked for a barefoot measurement not someone making a claim. Maybe you're aware that it's common for players/teams to add 1 to 2 inches to a players actual barefoot height? You can look at the predraft barefoot measurements and compare those to the listed heights to see that this is true. Deni didn't attend an NBA predraft which is why I was (& am) interested in an actual measurement... tape doesn't lie.

A source with the team is better than no source at all...

lol would be absolutely hilarious if we drafted Dylan Harper when we have scoot

two short ball dominant guards. What could go wrong?

Harper is listed as 6’6 on Tankathon. I’ve never seen him so I have no idea what is true, but I consider that tall for a PG if accurate.

Again, Marang is not with the team. As far as I'm concerned he's just a guy saying stuff and I've got plenty of those sorts of dubious sources here already

I noticed that when he's on the post-game show (on K2) he's spinning a different yarn than he does on his show(s).

Last I paid attention he was listed at 6’4. Been a while though so maybe he grew.

I'm sure that when actual measurements are done he will come out as 6'3 or 6'4 barefoot. I recall his father was always listed at 6'6, but that was when everyone was allowed to lie about height.

The Blazers have some work to do. There are currently 8 teams that are still winless and some of them are 0-3. The Flagg influence is strong.

Flagg is still only 17, gets 22 points against Morgan St.

Ace Bailey (25) and Dylan Harper (20) combine for 45 against St Johns.

Flagg is a 'do-it-all' forward who has a smoothness to him.
Harper reminds me a lot of Brunson in his ability to create shots without a lot of explosiveness.
Bailey has advanced ability to make shots from the perimeter and on turnarounds with a very high release point.

I wouldn't be disappointed with any of these guys.
