Event 2025 NBA DRAFT LOTTERY, COMBINE, AND DRAFT (1 Viewer)

Blazers just can't be allowed to have anything good.

Rigged or not the lottery has not been helping the teams in need lately. In addition the west just got that much tougher next year that we are ready to “go for it“. Super frustrating as our rebuild is seems to be happening at the wrong time.

So all the irritating, idiotic posts during every Blazer game this year proved to be wrong as a team with worse odds than us won it all....again. Ainge knows how to tank! Oops

Not one of the bottom 3, who tanked the hardest for those great odds ...... ended up with a top 3 pick.

Well, our rebuild is just going to take that much longer. We have to do it slow through development. We got nothing else.

Well another bust of a draft over

Potentially add Yaxel Lendeborg to that list, too, as he is supposed to have a 7'3" wingspan. Some of the complaints of Flemming, Yaxel also doesn't have.

For example, he can handle the ball, he can pass, and he showed up against tougher competition.

Older player, though, and hasn't declared for the draft yet, so there's that. Funny enough, he already plays for the Blazers.....the UAB Blazers.

Personally, I do think Portland can score big wins, in this draft, if they trade down the #10 for Atlanta's #13 and #22.

All the while, they trade Simons to Orlando for #16 and maybe #25.

Then, Grant can apparently fetch a pick in the 20s. That's 4-5 first rounders potentially and that's enough to get a few of those guys on your list and Yaxel (if he declares). Maybe one of them hits?

Can also get Neoklis Avdalas.....which could be a potential steal now, if you can guarantee him before he declares for college (and if he does well, in college).

Hard to tell what his potential is. Could be the next Deni or could be Hezonja. Worth a gamble, if Portland can secure picks.

I like the premise, but I'd be surprised if the Blazers used all the resources they could gather from the pick, Simons and Grant in this year's draft. I'm thinking more along the lines of them spreading the picks they might acquire over this year, next and maybe up toward 2029 when we already have two first-rounders and some of our current young players will be closing in on contract years.

That just seems fixed to me.
All these occurred within 12 (usually ~6) months of a major trade...

2025: Luka -> Flagg
2023: Wemby to SA (his preferred location)
2019: AD -> Zion
2015: Love -> KAT
2012: Chris Paul -> AD
2011: LeBron -> Irving (+ Bennett, Wiggins in subsequent years)

Anyone who doesn't think it's possible because the lotto is monitored, should watch McMillions on Netflix.

Though it would've been nice that Portland got Flagg so that a 15 year dynasty was secured, I'm of the opinion the team already has "Kobe-Odom". It even has "Bynum" and "Ariza".

As such, I simply think the key for Portland is to find a Ron Artest. Someone along the Kukoc/Cliff/Kersey tier player that gets selected outside the lottery.

Trade for assets and then, go crazy and pick up lengthy wings/forwards and international wings in every draft.

Maybe even gamble on "Pau Gasol" in Sabonis by trading the #11 (many of you have forgotten how Pau Gasol's reputation was similar prior to being an "actual winner").

If I came on here last summer and told you guys that the Mavs would trade Luka for Anthony Davis and Max Christie and then the Mavs would win the #1 pick with 1.8% odds, you would tell me I was fucking crazy and stupid.

THAT is why it's extremely hard to believe that this shit is legit.

Occam's Razor.... when faced with multiple possible explanations for an event, the one that requires the fewest assumptions or variables is likely the correct one. The Dallas Mavericks gave up a young superstar for a bad haul so that they would eventually get the #1 pick. The NBA is an entertainment league. Viewership is down a TON. They're desperate to get eyeballs back on their league. They put one of their top 5 best players back in Los Angeles and now they have rebuilt one of their other dynasties in a matter of four years with one of the best young cores we have seen in a while. Or was it the galaxy that decided the Spurs should return to power?

Or maybe the Mavs GM is a complete moron and the Mavs beat insane odds to win the #1 pick.
