just finished the Duke game….

Cam Boozer is a clone of Banchero.

He would’ve given Flagg a run for his money if he were in last year’s draft.

This is the Peterson draft imo.

Soon to be NCAA Champion Yaxel Lendeborg. Perfect Timelord replacement

I still have Dybantsa a little ahead of Peterson, but I'd love to have either on my team. Both have superstar potential.

I saw someone compare Peterson to a less-athletic Kobe. I see some Brandon Roy when I watch him play. Interestingly, reading about Peterson now that he patterns his game after Dame and Doncic.

One player that could be a real wild card in this draft is Gilbert Arenas' son, Alijah. He's bigger than his dad, like 6-6. He was expected to be a top-10 pick and reclassified to enter college this year. Then he tore up his knee and had to be put in a medically-induced coma after a car accident over the summer.

If the medicals are OK, he is another that has the chance to be special. The bad thing about that is, if he enters this draft, the Thunder with potential multiple lottery picks again would be in an ideal position to use one on a lottery ticket that Arenas would be.

Ebuka Okorie at Stanford has been the biggest surprise freshman for me so far....

He's going have to improve his at-rim decisions vs better competition, but the handle creativity and burst are special.

Not a super advanced passer, but turning it over at the it unbelievably low rate for how much he's asked to do offensively.

Been pretty solid defensively. Really active hands, good chasing through screens but not always in a stance and can get caught overextended on the perimeter.

Too early to say if he comes out since he'll have to continue to be special at his size to really convince NBA teams he's worth a top 20 pick, but a guy to watch for sure.

The best PG in college.

Projects to be a backup in the NBA but has the intangibles/IQ to be a very solid 6th/7th man on a playoff team (ceiling).

I used to get so into the draft. Can’t get excited about it anymore. If they want to tank, they’ll mess that up again. I assume they’ll overthink their pick again like last year. What a waste. I still don’t know the direction or strategy of the team, if they are trying to win or not, go young or not, or what they want to do. They don’t have a single untouchable player after lottery picks over and over. Their 2 best guards are a combined 70 years old. They have excess Centers, and their most recent lotto center is a non factor. But yay China eyeballs on televisions. Their coaching situation is literally unprecedented and we have no idea what the plan is going forward while they are desperately needing to develop guys and implement their system. I would love to get into the draft again, but my expectations are very low.

The prize of this draft is Peterson.

As far as guards go, aside from Peterson, Mikel Brown is the next best prospect.

An early riser: Hannes Steinbach

This draft is DEEP.

Steinbach has been a monster so far.

He could creep into the top 8.

6’11” 230 lbs

For Portland's projected draft position, I think Yaxel Landeborg is a guy who can contribute right away.

Might be this year's Cedric Coward, in that sense.

Would address potential depth issues at the 3-5 positions.

I do like Neoklis, as well

He can't be because this time last year I hadn't even heard of Cedric Coward.

I don’t know. Steinbach seems slow in some of those clips. Maybe I am just imagining it.

Im fully on the Dybantsa bandwagon

Dyb’s is a killer cut from the Kobe mold.

Peterson is CONSTANTLY dealing with injuries already.

There are things about his game that remind me of Durant and things about his game that remind me of Jayson Tatum. Dybantsa's from Massachusetts, so I wouldn't be shocked if he's patterned his game a bit off Tatum. He speaks very well in interviews, seems intelligent and seems to study the game.

Random thoughts on this class after digging into it quite a bit the last few weeks.

Darryn Peterson, Caleb Wilson and AJ Dybantsa are my clear top 3 guys.

I'd say I'm the biggest fan of Peterson. Just an extremely polished 2-way guard that's looking better physically with each game. I'd have Cooper Flagg over all 3 of these top guys. but DP is the closest in terms of being a bullet proof prospect.

Caleb is a historic athlete and his footwork + touch in the mid post plus his passing feel gives my high hopes on his skill development trajectory. And the skill is popping more and more as the season goes (check last game vs Stanford). The defense has left a bit to be desired, but he's an incredible rebounder and he has all the tools to be very impactful on that end.

AJ has been the most up and down for me. The lows are pretty rough, but there is no doubting his scoring feel at that size....very special. I also think he's a competitor that has been about the right things this year which hasn't always been the book on him. He's probably third for me in this group as I worry about the defense and the decision making that most out of the 3. Still a #1 level prospect in most drafts.

Cameron Boozer will go no lower than 4 most likely, but despite the production he's shown, I'm very worried about his NBA translation. I don't think he can play the 5 for your team and have any hopes of defending and I have change of direction concerns athletically when he's defending down the lineup. He also relies so heavily on his strength to create advantages on offense (which yes is ELITE) but even then these windows he's scoring through in college are pretty small when he doesn't have a clear mismatch on him. Lift and a extension as a finisher is pretty sub par and the left hand touch has been very worrying. The passing, strength, production and decent shooting indicators are going to get him picked very high, but if I was a building a team I would not want to hitch my wagon to him.

Overall this freshman class has been pretty amazing. I've got my qualms with some guys (Steinbach, Flemings are probably the top 2 guys that I'm lower on than consensus)

Tounde Yessoufou is probably the guy I'm highest on relative to consensus (at least Draft Twitter Consensus). That Baylor team is horrendous and runs some of the worst offense in the country. But despite that, I still see a freshman wing that moves as well as any defensively and has enough feel and 3 level scoring ability that gives him the safety +upside that you want in a lottery pick. Can play a smaller 3 and D role as his skills develop but there's a star in there if his development continues in the right direction.

On the opposite side of things....this group on upperclassmen is the roughest I've seen in a while....Yaxel might be my only clear first rounder, but I'm even pretty low on him when you consider age (will be almost 24 on draft night) and the likelihood of him being a pretty low usage offensive player. He's a little things PJ Washington (meaning better on D and as a playmaker) but he's also not as skilled offensively or as athletic.

Tyler Nickel is probably my favorite senior who is not on any boards right now. I'd take him top 45. Crazy shooter with size that I think can hold up defensively despite being a bit heavy footed. Never turns the ball over and has some off the bounce scorer in him that he rarely uses, but is effective when he does (he was the all time scoring leader in Virginia HS history over Allen Iverson & Mac McClung).
