A little off topic but watching the game last night I kept thinking about Dame sitting outside waiting for a pass on some of those Deni drives and hitting wide open 3s. Question is do we think Dame is gonna accept and adapt to not having the ball in his hands for a lot of the game? The offense should run through Deni imo.

Well, Dame competed in (and won) the 3-point shooting contest when he wasn't even an active player. That invovles walking around the 3-point line drilling 3-pointers.

I think he can do it!

The offense definitely should run through Deni.

But I'm hoping Dame is still deadly as ever going to the hoop and scoring too.

I'd like to think that Dame is seeing himself as the wide open recipient of Deni's passes when the defense collapsing on Deni, instead of being the guy getting collapsed upon....and shut down. Seems like Deni is going to open things up for Dame to shoot more, Which is more suitable to Dame's age and current physical limitations. Or at least we can hope......
agree, and we now know Deni's strength is pushing the ball up looking for fast break opportunities and drive and kick out to shooters. I wish both Camara & Shae would improve their handles & dribble drives to the hoop.

Watch Grant's hands while standing in the corner during that first highlight that leads to his made 3. Deni starts out with the ball, then passes to Jrue, who then passes to Shae, who then passes to Grant. The whole time, Grant has his hands and feet in position to catch and shoot. I guess that explains why he has such a quick release.

The block right after that wasn't too shabby either.

he had a great 4th Q....not so the first 3 Q's

I thought Sharpe played really well to. Didn't try to do too much; saw the court well. Had one weird turnover when he performed the splitz but other than that, really solid minutes

I think we'd cut it to 3 earlier and IIRC that was right before Clingan got called for the flagrant foul and I wondered if that would deflate us, losing our poise like that, and I think we immediately got back down again close to 10, but we fought back.

Then, after Jrue threw that pass into traffic and it got deflected and stolen, the Suns got Shaedon isolated on Booker, and Shaedon stoned him, like forced him into a 17-foot fallaway that was well short, and it makes you think what Shaedon might be capable of being defensively. Booker got two feet into the paint more easily against Camara a little later.

Sharpe's rookie year I'll never forget seeing him in person for the first time and thinking he could become a really good defender, has all the physical tools. It was great to see him make a huge stop in a meaningful game last night. If he can take his D to the next level we can live with his streakiness.

Yeah, I was very curious to see how those two played after being out for so long. I was just hoping that they could get the rust off, so that the game on Friday, they would be able to help us win vs the Clippers/Warriors. They both played better than I expected. Not perfect but pretty good.

How's Jerry? And I thought you were gone?

Confession.
I lost faith.
I have two TVs, big one in living room and small one in library. The library is adjacent to bathroom. It is impossible to hear living room TV in bathroom so I had both on last night. That way I wouldn't miss anything. When you get to my age you will understand frequent bathroom trips.
When Phoenix went up 11 fourth quarter I thought it was over. Turned off living room TV. Left library TV on but muted. Read for a bit and got ready for bed. Set security system, turned down bed. Went to use bathroom and turn off library TV. Saw it was three point game.
I turned the sound back on and watched the famous 3 1/2 minutes sitting at my desk. Actually spent a lot of it jumping up and down in pajamas and slippers.
So glad I left that TV on.
I can't do Hail Marys as penance, I 'm Jewish. Maybe say 20 Go Blazers?

Out of all of the Blazer - Suns highlight videos I've watched today (and it's quite a few), this one has to be my favorite -

From: "Avdija is so *ss bro. I don't know how he made the All-Star team.'
To: "Avdija what you got!?! What you got! What do you got! And one! Aint gonna lie. Can I take my statement back?"

This is a must watch for Blazer fans.

Also, I think it has a lot to do with our style of play, both on offense and defense, which is somewhat frenetic and designed to keep the other team off balance and disconnected.

Had my good friend from Orlando text me late last night saying, “who the fuck is Danny Adiva!?!?” 🤣

These Suns fans have lost their shit. We beat them on their home floor and if they can't win one out of two games on their home floor then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

According to a friend of mine, he is "that good looking Jewish guy who plays for the Blazers".

that was really funny.....I was expecting a stroke for the narrator

the wild thing is he knew what he was screaming about....Phoenix played some pretty brain-dead defense

Very accurate. Brain-dead defense sounds like a good album name for a new band called Small Ball or maybe Too Small or maybe The Small Balls.

Dang!
How long has it been since we had 19 pages on a game thread? I'm not sure I got time to read all this? Kinda got used to having more time on my hands.

I know! Well maybe more entertaining than reading a newspaper? Do newspapers still exist?
