what would you expect from him 'healthy'?
he did run off the floor without help. Probably depends on the severity of the concussion and how he performs in the tests. I wouldn't expect him to play Friday; quite possible Sunday. But we won't know for a while if he even flies to Portland
Gee I wonder which game he got hurt in and which game he played all hurt? One of these things is half of the others. Deni has no explosion and is clearly hobbled out there. Maybe he will be fine in game 3 if so then I think we will do well especially if no Wemby.
Our best player is a fully healthy Dame. Will he ever come back at that level? Maybe not. Point is, unless Dame is now washed he’s extremely good and he is on the sideline and Sharpe is still coming back from injury. Deni is either our best or second best player depending on how Dame comes back.
Also follow up, the Spurs are the luckiest/tankingest team in the league so fuck them. Nobody cares that Oden got injured or Roy’s career was cut short. Fuck the Spurs.
Honestly the NBA gods should be mad at them for their tanking for Duncan, then Wemby and then Castle when they already had Wemby that’s disgusting. I get tanking for Wemby, but I always felt their tank for Duncan was disgusting and annoyed they got rewarded.
They have now drafted 3 of the 4 best big men of the past 40 years. Them having bad luck for once seems only fair given their insane run of luck for 40 years. Having already a 20 year title window going back to the 1990’s 5 championships, and then a brief blip and boom back to contending likely for the next 10-15 years is a dream scenario for any team. Them having a minor injury that maybe loses them a series is a tiny blip in their insane run of luck for 40 years.
Luck goes both ways and the entire league mocked us around the failure of the Oden draft due to injuries. Wemby’s impact is what Oden’s should have been, sure Oden wasn’t going to shoot like that but we should have had a title run and the whole ass run was stolen. Wemby bumping his head isn’t even CLOSE to Oden’s career ending injuries and then Roy’s
I hope Wemby makes a full recovery, but I also hope we win this series and every game without him helps our chances. Its not like a career ending injury or even one that bothers him next season. Luck is part of winning in the playoffs see Kevin Love, Durant injury etc etc ad nauseum.
And in summation, fuck the Spurs and I hope we take their lunch money.
