Scoot has been one of the team's best players for a while now. He's going to be so much better when he gets that finishing down and has the ball in his hands more.
This offseason he needs to work on being able to create some space from defenders. With his combination of strength and speed, he should be able to, yet even average defenders are able to keep attached to him now.

He also needs to get back to distributing the ball, although that might not be as much on him as it is as much some of what I find to be our questionable philosophies of running offense.

Well our guys had lulls in effort but never actually gave up. So that's a good thing.

Those turnovers are the reason why I don't see us getting through the play-in and into the playoffs this year.

What are you looking at? Are you getting that from AI, because it's completely wrong. This is from that page. He's 51-143 this season. He's 47-105 if you subtract his terrible seven-game stretch.

I linked my source, it was basketballreference.com I believe but I just did a quick search so how accurate it is I don't know...I know he shot 22% when he first came back from injury and much better (around 37) the next month. He chucked a lot tonight and had his second assist at the end of the fourth qtr..quite honestly I'm just not impressed with Scoot for a 3 pick in the draft. I think Love is a better point guard right now. I was hoping Scoots improved shooting would stick going into the post season..tonight disappointed me. Jrue shot poorly tonight as well. It wasn't just Scoot. Scoot led us to a string of endgame empty possessions.

I used the same source as you. Somehow you got the incorrect stat. The screenshot I posted is literally Scoot's page with his 3-point %. I have a feeling you did a Google search that gave you an AI answer and directed you to the Basketball Reference page, because I've seen AI somehow mess these things up.

If that wasn't it, I have no idea where you came up with a stat that was that far off. Scoot came into this game shooting 43.8% from 3 if you delete that one seven-game stretch. I even posted his numbers.

This shouldn't be an argument. All you have to do is go back to that page and not use the Google quick search (AI) and you'll see the right stats.

So we lose to a spurs team that doesn't have two of their best players and people saying we are good?

Spurs are way better than us even without those two.

Another wasted year. Ho-hum, on to next year, and hopefully its good and all the shitty players are gone. Which is most of the roster.

Not sure it was a wasted year, as there has been growth. Has it been frustrating at times? Sure, even maddening. Scoot missing most of the season and starting off abysmal, the injuries to Grant, Jrue, Shaedon, Scoot, Murray, Wesley (he definitely fell off the face of the earth after that hot start) and Tisse.

I guess you could call it a waste because they didn't really show any consistency, but at least Deni, DC and Tou looked good.

And honestly, I think Tisse looked good once the shook off the rust after a few games.

I'm probably more annoyed by fans who don't have any ability to not overreact and be unrealistic.

They definitely need to make changes going forward, even healthy this team is probably a 6th seed at absolute best barring a miracle in the draft or someone drastically improving over the summer.

3-point shooting, last 10 games for both players. One is good, the other is not good.

Caleb Love shot 6 free throws in these 10 games, and made 4. 66.7%
Scoot Henderson took 37 free throws in his last 10 games, and made 32. 86.5%

DC needs some work sure but it's FUCKING bullshit to blame only him for the issues on the court.

He is the only one who tries to block shots outside of Rob Will , He is the only true rebounder this team has and he has already improved to a top 10 to 15 center in the league after just 2 seasons. He is going to get better so just lay off him plus it's not all his fault blame the system cause he sure as fuck is not the only person who allows super wide open 3's on this team like it fucking cool. Also this offensive system really needs to be tweaked too since at times it looks pretty good and then at times it's stand around and watch Deni drive to the hoop and I might add DC is the only one who seems to try and get in position for a rebound or a pass most of the time.

There is plenty of blame to go around. He's an awesome rebounder and he does attempt a good number of blocks. He is certainly a presence when he has the energy and the space to do it.

I think I and others are just recognizing a big weakness when it comes to him. He's a little too soft at times, and focuses too much on what the refs think (a lot of our players do that). He gets switched on and shot over constantly because he can't get out to guard the perimeter or outside of the paint. And, that's not all his fault.

The system doesn't use him right. The Blazers system treats him more like a shooting guard than a center. There are no attempts to get him positioned in the paint and get him the ball. He focuses too much on threes and helping on the perimeter. He has started heading to the basket more and I recognize that.

Alot of things that are going on are issues with the system. Other players are also to blame for allowing switches and such. Not to mention effort as a team. These are all things that can get better. DC has a very high potential.

I think in the heat of the moment we all blame players too much and forget that it's a team thing but we all do that be it DC , Grant and his good offense ( at times ) but everything else that is trash etc

sometimes Deni is just too sloppy with the ball. Tonight was one of those times

Clingan has his flaws, that's clear. But, he just turned 22 two weeks agao and I've always heard how it takes big men longer to develop

among Nlazer rotation players, Clingan ranks:

2nd in offensive rating
3rd in defensive rating (behind Thybulle & Timelord who have played 600 fewer minutes, combined, than Clingan)
2nd in PER
4th in TS%
1st in rebound rate
1st in turnover rate
1st in winshares
2nd in winshares/48
4th in BPM
2nd in VORP

in the NBA, he ranks:

2nd in total rebounds
3rd in rebounds/game
1st in offensive rebounds
1st in offensive reb/game
4th in blocks
5th in blocks/game
1st in total rebound rate (by wide margin)
1st in offensive rebound rate
5th in block rate

again....keeping in mind it's only his 2nd season and that he just turned 22, I find that people bitching about Clingan is a bit much. That's not to say that he's above criticism or that he doesn't need to improve in certain areas. He does. But where he's at 142 games into his career is damn impressive

I do agree with you that he's that the coaches are using him in some questionable ways

Definitely. Deni does get sloppy with the ball sometimes. Jrue did last night too. Alot of our guys did.

Yeah, DC definitely has a high ceiling. He still has a lot of development to do. He got better from last season to this one. He will get better again next season. I hope they do a lot of work with them this summer and we get a better system with a new coach that utilizes him the right way.

Grant really frustrates me sometimes. At least DC has being only a second year player as an excuse. Grant is a veteran and with the amount he is getting paid, some of his shenanigans sometimes. He flops way too much and always goes for the foul over the shot. He often takes terrible shots at the time and loses the ball. He was playing better before he got the big payday.

I think Deni’s biggest deficiencies are finishing at the rim on fouls and free throw percentage. If he can increase those, he is a perennial all star. If he doesn't, he might not make it again.

He takes a lot of contact at the rim and does miss free throws. He's tired as heck from trying to be the lone star on this team. I think having Dame back next season will be big for him.

Thybulle doesn't block shots? Advija doesn't? Grant doesn't? Are we watching the same team? Plus, there's a lot more to defense and good play than "trying to block shots".

Deni is 80% at the free-throw line this season. Is much of a deficiency? It is more important for him because he shoots so many.

I think Deni's 3-point shooting is a big problem. Lately, he's just terrible, but still keeps taking them.

Shooting 2-12 on threes in a 6-point loss to the 76ers. What was that all about?

Something sure threw his aim off. He was pretty good at that shot before his back stuff.
