Tom Dundon: Sorry Victor, it says here you aren’t able to fly until 7:30 PM - and the plane leaves at 6:30 PM.

Wembanyama: Can’t you just get a later flight.

Tom Dundon: Well, I could.. But I’m afraid that would cost an extra $28, and we just don’t have that in our budget.

Wembanyama: Well I can pay you 28 dol…

Dundon: … Sorry Victor, you’re gonna have to miss these next 2. I can’t be known as the guy which overpays for flights. Even if you cover the difference, I’m still the one paying for the ticket.

Looks like Wemby is flying with the team to Portland. Probably will play game 3 and for sure atleast game 4. Seems like they’re rushing him but of course they would it’s the playoffs I guess

He’s flying but when Mitch was asked if he will play game 3 his response was “he’s progressing”.

I don’t think he plays game 3 and if we lose he won’t play in 4 either. If we win Friday he will play in game 4. That’s my prediction. It’s pretty bad optics for SA to play a guy 72 hrs after a concussion everyone has seen a million times by now. If it was an elimination game maybe but not game 3.

I would hate to be the guy who accidentally elbows Wemby in the head. Granted, he would have to be bending over for it to happen.

"Receiving an elbow to the head while already suffering from a concussion is extremely dangerous and can lead to a potentially fatal, life-threatening condition known as Second-Impact Syndrome (SIS)"

With how many times he falls down per game it wouldn’t surprise me if hit his head multiple times.

he better not jump when he's under the backboard

people are claiming Wemby is a flopper. I'm really not seeing that. He's more like a giraffe on roller skates and sometimes his legs get crossed in an awkward fashion. He shouldn't try spin moves anymore....too much doofus potential for him, especially with those size 20.5 shoes

I'd still be surprised if he plays Friday night. I expect he will Sunday. I'm not sure at all about the severity of his concussion. Sometimes rebound concussions are more serious than impact concussions. He was definitively stunned immediately after his fall; but he seemed to recover pretty quickly and I noticed that 2-3 minutes after the fall he trotted to the locker room easily without support. So maybe it was a pretty minor concussion (comparatively). I was expecting news of a concussion plus a dislocated jaw.

if he doesn't play I wonder if we'll see Mason Plumlee

IMO, there is no way he plays tomorrow. But I do think he'll play on Sunday (and I'll be there!)

My first reaction is that it's kind of going to be tough and I'd rather him not play, but then when you think about it, it's actually a good thing if he does play. We don't want the asterix of beating the Spurs without Wemby, even if they are probably equally hard to beat without him. They went up on us and had the game in hand without him. He's definitely not one who can run like Fox and I think the style of play that they play with Wemby was starting to be figured out by the Blazers and handled in game 3. I have confidence that we're still going to beat them in game 3.

I think this is going to be a story for two players. There's no way that Donovan Clingan will not show up in front of the home crowd. Same with Jerami Grant. Both of those guys especially really need to make up for their performances. I feel like Kong didn't really play with consistent intensity and smarts and force and Jerami looked like he was trying but there were many 3-point shots that sadly just didn't go in. Really bad luck. There were 3's that went so deep into the hoop and then came back out----that's got to be pretty frustrating and demoralizing. Messing with his head. I predict he has a great game.

I could be wrong, but I just can't imagine them not going all out to play well and also the "basketball Gods" (shout out to Sterling Henderson) and the odds being in favor of things going better for DC and it has to be on his mind to GO HARD in Game 3 and the luck has to turn for Jerami.
